hey neross - have you tested at which points you can remove the original and use the backup effectively? could it be swapped earlier? or just at a time to make the backup do more work? (to test it further?)

also how does the xmb recognise the backup? is it just a data dvd and not shown in games but in movies/audio? or something else?

Just to confirm:

PAL PS3 fw 1.50.

Oblivion normally refuse to start asking to Update to 1.54.

Using the RFOM swap it will start with no problems ...

Neros and dufman, you dont even need to do that. You can instal rr7 onto the h/d via menu and then you can run the game WITHOUT ANY disk (once loaded) ;-)

At the minute its been confirmed with fw upto 1.51. Not sure about fw1.60 or fw1.70

The F1 exploit might work for you?

all u need is lil trickin and im sure u can get it runnin without the disc to even load it. it seems like the ps3 only needs that one little check to make sure there is something in the disc tray, maybe someone can make a disc with a program that manipulates the ps3 into thinking its a game, but then we boot are own, kinda like swap magic but just to a menu screen that allows us to load our image, just a thought...

Ok I just tried the rfom method on my 1.32 ntsc ps3, and I tried swapping it with nba street homecourt which requires a 1.50 update. Any news on that? do i have to delete something i only have a 167mb rfom file which i have no idea what its for.
