i just want someone (with dvi) to check if this does or doesn't. it works along the same line as skipping the HDTV system check. It doesnt really matter to a lot of us becuase we have HDTV but if it does work it can point to something else ;-)

yeah right I forgot that via the exploit it is possible to skip the hdtv check

And I would benefit from the deactivation of the hdcp as my tft doesn't have hdcp but dvi. But I don't have a hdmi to dvi converter so I can't test it.

ps3 (jap) 1.32, using rfom (us)
sonic (jap), works fine
godfather 1.50(us) works fine

but i have problem with SPLINTER CELL 1.54(eur), the screen goes black and a message shows up for a few seconds "game experience may change during online play" then it goes black again and nothing happens.

am i doing something wrong or does this not work with the european version?

jldemayer, I have similar problem with Spliner Cell.

Mines a 1.50 JAP PS3
Resistance FoM (jap)
NTSC/Canada Splinter Cell (Requires 1.54)

Firstly, it loads fine (first time round it takes awhile due to saving nearly a gigs worth of data to the HDD) and then the game plays fine. However, if you save, switch off and go to play the game again, when you select Solo mission the game will crash. It will not load your savedata from the previous go.

I believe though using the F1 swap trick the save data will work, but I am yet to try this - im currently waiting for F1 to arrive.

My resistance is also a JAP version so I am wondering if I am struggling with my savedata because the games I am swapping to are NTSC/Canada which have a different ident code to the jap games.

Will do afew more tests and report back with my findings.

gazza,

do you mean deleting the savedata and replace it with one form another game-region, so they will be from the same? which one are you thinking about? rfom or the one for scda.

I look forward to a ps2 backup one, I am willing to offer assistance in testing this, I dont have a codebreaker 9 but have a backup and want to try a possible homebrew method... if anybody has one and willing to help test let me know (and has Socom II).

I think neross is on to something with the packets, do you think we can see something similar to the PS3 Proxy Server that will receive and return spoofed packets?

Must just be the US version of SM3. PAL copy boots, plays, saves, loads and plays again fine.

i am having the same problem as gazza, when i swapped the game (sm3) it played perfectly but when i saved the game and played it again it crashes at the main menu screen. i am using full auto 2 for swapping.. can anybody help?
Its proberbly an issue with the full auto 2 swapping procedure. sm3 works fine with the rfom or f1 games

Sounds interesting, I too am currently working on acouple of methods that do not involve opening the system. Just awaiting a couple of things to arrive first but hopefully should have something to report back on towards the end of next week.

If my theory serves me right, this should also bypass the PAL/NTSC issue with PS2 games.
