I did though! When I got the usual black screen I get trying to swap out RfoM I just pushed the RfoM disc back in and it went to XMB. This is where I tried Calling all Cars.

Pause resistance during gameplay, Swap the discs with the one you want to load, Select Save & Quit on the Resistance pause menu. (Not quit on the PS button) Also delete the R:FoM update if you are struggling to get it to work.

I just thought I would try something different - i know I have to delete the update and 'save and quit' from pause menu not PS button. I read all eleven pages.

Then why say you couldnt get it to work!! Even if you were trying something different as you say, how are we supposed to know that. We are obviously going to think your on about the original method.

Possible region lock bypass for R:FOM

As topic, however i need someone else to step forward and do some research with me.
When connecting to online play, the ps3 querys three specific urls, these are :

resistance-muis.scej-online.jp
resistance-mas.scej-online.jp
resistance-svo.scej-online.jp

The above is for the japanese version of resistance.
My theory is that either via hosts file or by proxy application, the urls are redirected to those of another region copy, however i only have the japanese version of the game, so to test this further i need someone with a US copy, and someone with a EU copy, to connect up their ps3 so it is connecting through your pc, and using either ethereal or something similar, log the packets from when you're starting the game to when you reach the menu with "Ranked games" at the top, once here stop the logger and from top to bottom search for these urls, there will only be THREE, and you need to paste them in the order from first to last.

Hopefully with some poking around we'll be able to bypass entirely, the regional lockouts for the game

I tried the exploit with RFOM on my PS3 v1.10 to boot Oblivion (everything is US/CA). I deleted from my hard drive everything except for the RFOM Game data that needs to be installed by the game, a savegame of the game to accelerate the process by loading my game before quitting and I also have the demo of motorstorm installed on my Hard Drive. I boot the game and start to play, I press start, and then change the disc, save and quit. Oblivion starts to boot and freeze after the logo screen at the beginning. I tried several times and always have the same results. Anyone was able to boot Oblivion on 1.10 using RFOM?

This exploit should work fine, issue is proberbly going to be related to your game saves. Delete the game save and try again. Unfortunatly I cannot keep buying more games to test and I do not have oblivian. I will see if I can 'borrow' one from somewhere and get the issue resolved for you all.
