it dont work it shows an error code when it finishes restoring bacup then restores database then shows a currupt file under game i used qbert full usa pkg on my 60 gig pal ps3

guys, we where all played for fools once more. I have tried this and get the same results as everyone else. Either we are missing a step or this is bull!

I'm calling BS and I'm very surprised CJPC and PS3NEWS is keeping this as front page news.

Unless all the information hasn't been shared, which I hope is the case.

What do you guys think?

I would recommend using the 'English' thread for English discussion of it... I just got online myself, and will update the news when I have time tonight. Until then, the news from last night obviously sits at the top of the main page.

The site is a community place to share knowledge, ideas, files for testing etc and the Italian Team were nice enough to bring their project here to work with us as can anyone else. Those expecting some kind of instant "loader" need to get outside more because that isn't what this is all about at all.

I agree with what the boss says above - but only because i have witnessed the hard work that the Italian Team have put in this new project in the last 48-72hrs. I have been online mostly, closely following this project's development and i have also noticed that the leader of this project (Giulio19992) has been online most of the time.

So, do yourself a favor and STOP acting like a loser and calling this fake as it might be just a honest mistake or a little something that he forgot to mention, which is perfectly understandable and excusable, considering he has been working with almost no sleep and is doing this for FREE.

So, STFU all of you who think they could do better, when obviously they can't do crap, except complain endlessly and fill this thread with crap replies.

I know you're trying to stick up for us, but there is nothing to call it 'fake' about nor any type of mistake. It's an ongoing project we spotlighted in our Site News when Giulio19992 shared it here... nothing more, nothing less.

Those who don't wish to get involved with it don't have to... CJPC said that NDT was trying to chat with them today on it, but that is about it. The Devs may find it amounts to nothing useful, it may help them with some related work, or it may be useful in some way itself... but nobody knows yet.

Finally, we are all adults here so let's stay away from the kiddie "fake/not fake" stuff, name calling, and so on (or I will just terminate the accounts of those who can't act like somebody)... those confused about this are best to let the PS3 Devs continue onward and when there is an update it will be posted.

hi I may be new to the Ps3 world but I have made some ms-dos batch files in my time and all I can see in the run.bat file is a rename command for *.pkg files.

I am making a backup of my ps3 now and plan to use a pgk file containing Mortal Combat demo as my first attempt. I have to say that I am very skepticle about this, I belive there has to be more to this than simply renaming the files.

Stil I'm going to give it a go and see what happens

Ive tried this, and could not get it to work.
Ive tried using the ps3 debug test file,
A demo,
named as archive_00.dat, archive_01.dat (a .dat file that dint exist).
And Ive even tried binary merging a .pkg demo with my existing archive_00.dat file, (Basically adding the .pkg file to the end of the archive_00.dat).

All of this to no avail.

And on a positive side note, I did find out that you can rename your backup folder to anything you want rather than the year, month, date, hour, minute format. (2008120812709). lol.

giulio had mentioned an encryption - decryption tool (in the chatbox) wonder how come there's no more mention of it, since it sounded as if it was necessary for the backup to work properly

That's why we have to wait for him, and have patience. He's doing great things, we have just to wait and see.
