Video: PS3 Downgrading via PSDowngrade with Beagle 480 USB

    Sponsored Links
A few days back we reported on the PS JailBreak Downgrade file leak, and today Hansi of PSXCare.com (linked above) has followed up on some previous work and shared a video of a PS3 downgrading with PS Downgrade and a Beagle 480 USB protocol analyzer.

Download: Test Boot PS3Key.tdc / Service Mode by PSDowngrade.tdc

To quote: PSDowngrade / PS3 JIG USB traffic protocol scan

Use Beagle Data Center Software to read the dumps.

One file is a PS3Key boot, the other is a PSDowngrade boot.

The PSDowngrade is supposed to be encrypted and not "analyzeable" according to a distributor. But maybe something can be learned anyway.

    Have fun!

Since it's a challenge response, it's more useful to monitor the data sent to the PSJailbreak when installing the downgrader.

That's the hex file we need to reverse engineer. Once you have that, the data during downgrading doesn't matter anymore.

That video shows very little of any hard downgrade information.

The service mode file is encrypted? Though you can never tell what a file is by it's extension, it appears that this extension is for "Microsoft Tabular Data Control". If you view it with a hex editor you notice the header of TPDC, so not sure what that is.

If you re-read the post, it says:

Use Beagle Data Center Software to read the dumps.

Perhaps give that software a try to peek into it more!
