Video: PS JailBreak - Consolewinkel Says to Wait for Free Version

    Sponsored Links
We posted up some PS JailBreak videos from DynaModz yesterday, and today another Dutch site known as Consolewinkel.nl has shared a new PS JailBreak PS3 modchip video.

According to some of the captions in the video, Consolewinkel feels end-users should wait for a free version of the PS3 USB modchip as the PS JailBreak is overpriced.

To quote: "The Ps3 mounts the dvddrive with a backuped ISO file. Because of this the Ps3 still needs a disk to start the game.

Just want and get it for free ! We think Jailbreak software must be free just like the psp/wii and xbox software."

Those interested can check out the PS JailBreak video below courtesy of ombouwwinkel via YouTube!

The dongle itself will never be free unless you steal it. You can't just grab a flash drive and put some files on it. The dongle may however lead to a software exploit but that is unlikely to be discovered and released in the near future.

I know at least one guy is working on a PSJailbreak emulator for PSP, since the PSP already has a special USB connection with the PS3 (to view game saves and games on PSP) it may be able to take the hardware's place but only time will tell.

Boss, that's awesome news. I'm really excited to hear that, and I'm sure there are plenty of others who would be excited after hearing that aswell. Luckily I've got a psp, so I can't wait for updates =p

who cares about the damn usb, all we want is the files on it, and even if it more than a usb (which i doubt), you could probably build your own dongle for $10-$15.

you could probably flash any usb flash drive with the files and a script for read/write access.. kind of like how the battery is flashed in psp to make a pandora battery. we used to have to open the battery up and unsolder a piece for it to work, but then they found a way by flashing it.

i'm sure there will be a way to turn any flash drive into the "dongle"

I believe it is more likely that we will buying flash drives with small encryption chips on them that way we can just reprogram the chip to handshake the ps3 just like the dongle would then we could use the flash memory one the drive to store our programs... (illiminating the need for two flash drives, one to handshake the ps3 and one to load our program off)

This is funny news to me, coming from ombouwwinkel. Back when the softmods came for the wii, they made some quick money by selling these presoftmodded packs.

thought they ask €50 extra just for the softmod. And now the come and say this is overpiced
