Are you certain of that? Even if the log files are there they'd have to have a program which can accurately scan them for what they're looking for, fat chance that's going to happen.

I don't think backup manager can be hidden for that long by any method bcz sony will detect it eventually, So i think cat & mouse game has just started same like xbox360.

No, I'm not certain. I'm just pointing out a possibility. I wouldn't risk the normal backuploader, but perhaps the one with the changed ID would be safer.

Even a 5 year old can spoof a MAC address easily...

We need more info! Right now, this whole thread is just theories...

We need to learn more about these logs, where they are, how and when they are sent, when do they wipe off if they ever wipe off, etc...

Until these "simple" things are known, we can't do much except speculate. Now that the beast is cracked, it should be easy enough for Devs to find it out.

As always, we are counting on you!

Also, in addition to this, it took months/years for people to figure out how microsoft was detecting and banning consoles. Even then, people are only guessing how its done. It also took a lot of trial and error and many banned consoles. Don't expect things to come quickly, we've only had an exploit for a little over a week now.

This was quite obvious... Time will tell if online play will ever be available.

one question asked earlier was never answered, but never the less was a very valid point.

Now if we play our games on our accounts that are connected to PSN, supposedly we get banned.

What if we create a NEW account on the ps3, WITHOUT a PSN account linked to it, WHILE offline, would we still be banned, even though the account is NOT connected to PSN, or the internet, ever?

They can get your MAC address. Unless you can spoof it or change it, you will get banned. But if you are not going online at all, how are yo going to be banned?

And don't forget the FW updates. If you want to play on PSN you have to update some day. This would be the end of your homebrew ps3. At the moment it isn't possible to play online with the BM.
