Today JohnAaron has leaked the Sony PS3 SDK GCC Cell OS LV2 Toolchain sources on IRC, which PlayStation 3 developers can use to aid in the ongoing creation of an open-source PS3 Software Development Kit.

To quote: Previously, coders could not make their own versions of GCC with the PS3 SDK. However, that setback no longer stands in the way with the release of these files.

In addition, dev's can now port later versions of GCC to the SDK, as well as make their own toolchain. Once again, it's stressed that if you're not a developer this won't be of any use to you, but this will come in handy for developers.

Agreed, nice to see some newer SDK stuff making its way public... the last I recall was the PS3 SDK 3.41 Toolchain & RAF Compiler leak from 11 months ago.
