Why didn't sony ever make something like showtime for the PS3? It's so much easier playing videos and music using it.

Today PlayStation 3 homebrew developer Redsquirrel87 has updated the PS3 Media Player to Showtime Repack v3.1.231 with the changes detailed below, as follows:

i can't test the latest versions at the moment cause i dont have my ps3 around, but andreas oman changed something again. to quote from his site:

ps3-vdec: Don't use the _ex() version of codec query/open. It seems to mess things up you can get the latest version as usually from: jaensch-koloska.de/maximilian/ps3/showtime/showtime.zip or jaensch-koloska.de/maximilian/ps3/showtime/showtimegh.zip

Showtime 3.1.236 - The links below seem to have fixed the problems with the files I tested. You can use these links to download new versions. The links will always stay the same, but they are updated fairly often.
