Can you confirm that it does infact reformat your HDD? (the e3 downgrader)
    it deletes absolutely nothing

when you update/downgrade and turn off service mode the ps3 starts the initial firmware setup - once its done it will ask you to restore the previous data.

    done n done

also yeah id love a tripod <3

If its a slim it will more than likely format your hdd as some of the data is stored within the hdd whereas if its a phat you will be ok. Something to do with a larger NAND storage on the older phat consoles.

That's good news guys. So what your both saying is basically I don't have to back anything up before I upgrade/downgrade. I have the fat ps3 btw.

I've just ordered myself an E3 card reader. The plan is:

    Downgrade to 3.15 & install Ubuntu 8.10
Run the exploit (XorHack kit) & dump the hypervisor
Fish out the dongle master key

Just a quicky, I've got most the information on how to do this. Only thing I'm missing is the glitch hardware. Is there something I can do with a PIC 18F2550?

Why not just load AsbestOS on 3.41, no need to go back to 3.15 right?

Good thinking batman! Completely forgot about that - just found it on my flash drive.

Can I run the exploit kit with asbestos? I'll try and dig out a tutorial or something.
