Does this mean that we can now make EBOOTS for CFW?

Cfw.. I in no way meant to offend, and was more "generally speaking" and in most cases agree with you. I was not speaking "at" you.
I DO use much of your work on the wii... And am EXTREMELY grateful for your work and that it is free.

But please remember, whether its free to download or you have to pay out rear for some stupid dongle that hardly does anything, it all still effects the people who create the games no?

Being on both sides of the coin, enjoying the scene, and working for a game company, where the scene rips money out of my pocket daily, I find this in its entirety to be a "eat it or not" situation. that's all.

Again, thank you for your work... and more-so thank you and all the others for keeping it free... and hopefully, without knowing it, you enjoy mine, for free.

I agree with you, lindwurm, he has just gone too far writing this "Kill this Indonesian ignorants and make their payload opensource" but I'm sure he meant "Kill these profiteers and make their payload opensource", he did not want to offend anyone.

In addition to this, the team behind True Blue dongle comes from China and not from Indonesian, differently from how many people believe.

Does this TB still requires 3.60+ games to be on a special Bluray ?

I believe since the last few TB updates they have been able to run from the HDD using the patched EBOOTs, but as far as I know shops still are peddling the special Blu-rays to further profit I suppose.

    Question

the last few TB updates they have been able to run from the HDD using the patched EBOOTs, mean that we can now make EBOOTS for CFW?

Arrow KADO True Blue JB2 Patch for Downgraded PS3 Consoles

For those with the TB dongle, below is a KADO True Blue JB2 Patch for downgraded PS3 consoles with the details as follows from Abkarino via *********.net/forum/threads/2192-KADO-True-Blue-JB2-Patch-for-Downgraded-consoles?p=23575#post23575:

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

This is a very long waited patch for downgraded console to work with the famous True Blue JB2 dongle. This patch is brought to you by my lovely brother KADO. KADO brought to you a great patch for downgraded console to work with True Blue JB2 dongles.

He told me that this patch is a special patch and he hope that people learn more info from reversing it. Also he told me that he released it because he just want give them warn.

    How to use it:

If you attend to downgrade 3.56+ console and use TB dongle after that then use this steps:

1 - Dump your NOR flash using Progskeet first if you didn't have a good dump from your console.
2 - Download patch file attached to this thread.
3 - Extract this file and you will get 4 folders use patch in folder "Coba_2" to patch your dump using WinSkeet.
4 - Apply this patch to your dump then flash it to your console.
5 - Enter a Factory Service Mode using any method you like.
6 - Use TB CFW with Lv2diag.self to flash your TB CFW in FSM.
7 - Start your console normally, if it brick just dump this NOR flash again then patch again using "Coba_2" patch.
8 - If it still bricked use "Coba_3" patch to patch your dump again then flash it back to your console.
9 - Start console normally, now your console can run TB CFW on downgraded console.
10- Power off your console, plug your TB Dongle then power it on again and enjoy.

Credit goes to Kado for this patch.
Also a very big thanks goes to: Abkarino (Me kado gives me this not me), nice69, uf6667, rogero, muggi, eusnl, ago, and all ppl.

Also Kado had hinted me some info to share with dev/hackers about this patch. For every one interested just look at patch2 file it is an empty coreos file with only part of lv0 modified to do this trick.

Some more details via PS3 Dev Wiki and Rogero (*********.net/forum/threads/2196-True?p=24272#post24272):

the Rebug TB CFW does not have LV1 patched or else it will brick the TB dongle or cause the PS3 to freeze on startup, and he didn't get a brick because his syscon was reset accidentally with the same way that Kado is using in his patches to reset the syscon and allow the usage of any non-patched OFW or CFW.

now for the most interesting part about how Kado patches are actually resetting the syscon:

he used 3 sets of patches and 3 steps to accomplish this :

    Step1:

    Flash the NOR with: Patch1 with empty ROS0 + Patch2 with empty ROS1 + Patch3 overlapping 4 revoke area's
Enter Factory Service Mode and reinstall nonpatched firmware (e.g. OFW)

    Step2:

    Flash the NOR with: Patch1 with filled ROS0 + Patch2 with empty ROS1 + Patch3 overlapping 4 revoke area's
Enter Factory Service Mode and reinstall nonpatched firmware (e.g. OFW)

    Step3:

    Flash the NOR with: Patch1 with empty ROS0 + Patch2 with filled ROS1 + Patch3 overlapping 4 revoke area's
Enter Factory Service Mode and reinstall nonpatched firmware (e.g. OFW)

After the 3 steps are completed, the syscon banks should be now reset and no more need to patch LV1 in the OFW/CFW to be used.

More details about the patches offsets can be found on the Ps3DevWiki by following this link ---> The_FSM_Dance: ps3devwiki.com/index.php?title=Talkowngrading_with_Hardware_flasher#The_FSM_dance

    Quick syscon rehashing

Goal: To be able to install unpatched firmwares on consoles that where previously on 3.56+

    The FSM dance

NOR only, for now! Don't use directly as is on NAND, because offsets will differ!

    Patch files used

Depending on which step, will be used in one or both ROS areas:

This will be the same for all steps:

After each step of patching, enter Factory Service Mode and reinstall nonpatched firmware (e.g. OFW)

Redump flash after last reinstall of firmware in service mode to check if both ROS areas are occupied.

    Alternative QA way
    • Patch as normal downgrader (ROS 0/1 + RVK prg/pkg) on mainpage
    • install prepatched firmware in service mode
    • enable QA-extra and install unpatched firmware in recovery mode.

    Alternative shorter reFSM way
    • Patch as normal downgrader (ROS 0/1 + RVK prg/pkg) on mainpage
    • install prepatched firmware in service mode
    • install unpatched firmware in service mode
N.B: Please note that the method mentioned above is still experimental and under testing and I take no responsibility whatsoever in case of anything goes wrong, please try it at your own responsibility until further testing can confirm those pacthes are safe enough for generic use.

Credits to Kado for releasing this new method that allows to reset the syscon instead of bypassing the checks.
Credits to eussNL for cleaning up the initial patches and making the simplified form of the patches.
Credits to #ps3downgrade and all beta testers in the channel. Cheers

Arrow True Blue (TB) v3.55 PS3 CFW v2 Update

Today the True Blue (TB) v3.55 PS3 CFW v2 update was released for those with the dongle, and below are the details as follows:

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror - 170.37 MB)

Notes: We have released V2 of the True Blue PS3 custom firmware (CFW). This release adds the "no check" patches in order to support hardware downgraded consoles.

We recommend that all True Blue users update their PS3 to this CFW as soon as possible, as support for V1 CFW will be depreciated with the upcoming True Blue dongle firmware update.

Once you have download the file, please confirm the validity of the PS3UPDAT.PUP file contained within the ZIP archive by matching with one of the following hashes:

    MD5: ff689e1e8cdd02a46ddadb14c3c5b85c *PS3UPDAT.PUP

Before updating your PS3 to the latest CFW release!
