    PSGroove Compatible Dev Boards

    I though it would be great to a thread with a list of all boards that are compatible with PSGroove and a link where to purchase them. If you know any other boards then feel free to post them and i will update this thread, hopefully it will save time for everyone searching.

    HERE is a compilation of the patched and unpatched psgroove hex/bin files to flash your devices with. On windows you will need to download http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/tools_card.asp?tool_id=3886 to flash the hex files with and on linux you will need http://www.bsdhome.com/avrdude/ (download the latest .deb file http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/b/binutils-avr/ for your arch on debian/ubuntu).

    The patched hex/elf files support backup manager, and include a Patched Binary ELF, Patched HEX, Binary ELF and HEX for each of these:
    • Teensy 1.0 & Blackcat (at90usb162 & 16MHz)
    • Teensy++ 1.0 (at90usb646 & 16MHz)
    • Teensy 2.0 (atmega32u4 & 16MHz)
    • Teensy++ 2.0 (at90usb1286 & 16MHz)

    USBTiny Mkii Programmer aka USBTINY-MKII
    http://tom-itx.dyndns.org:81/~webpage/commerce/commerce_index.php

    Tom dispatches it really fast. I got it within 3 days.

    Since this is not a common board, the hex file for this is not found easily. I compiled a working version with the following changes in Makefile
    Code:
    MCU = at90usb162
    BOARD = USBTINYMKII
    F_CPU = 16000000
    Attached the working hex file. The LED turns green indicating exploit executes successfully.

    The most compatible PS3 JailBreak dev boards

    Hey, guys. So this thread should be for people, who want to buy a new dongle/dev board to break the PS3.

    So which is the best (most compatible / cheapest) device.

    My TOP 3.

    1. x3MAX (the program compiled any *.hex that the dongle can handle it.)
    2. Teensy++ 2.0 [AT90USB1286] (hard to find, until the Jailbreak came out.)
    3. AVRUSB 1.2 [PIC 18F4550] (The dongle must be awesome with THIS.)

    What do you think about my list ? Whats your favorite ? Discuss !

    I moved this to the PS3 JailBreak section versus the single Q/A one so that it can be used for discussion, but if you want to add "buy" links then it would need to go in the BST area so I will let you decide on that.

    Well, i got not a usual JB stick. I bought myself a real DEV board from embedded projects. Its simple and very well manufactured. Its a AT90USB162 and i got NOT one problem so far. You can use the Teensy v.1 hex with 16mhz for it.

    Pic attached.

    Thanks Boss ( I know ). Switching to the Jailbreak section is a good idea. But why, if I want to add the Official homepage links, or somebody want to know where to buy, I have to add it to the BST area ? Can we find a agreement with it ?

    We have the board sites outlined in the Sticky HERE... if any need to be added I can do so of course just let me know which and it will be done.

    As for shop links that sell them, we have enough ads on the site users can pick from or they can post in the BST area for others to keep people (and shops too cheap to pay us for advertising) from spamming them here.

    the best jailbreak is now the ps3 usb jailbreak I think. the x3max has compatibility problems with *.hex while it does not plus its OMFG cheaper.

    both have big memory but the x3max has double at 128k, but who cares.

    I was looking at the AVRUSB 1.2, but doesn't the 16k memory make it "limited" in what you can do?

    16kb isn't much. I got my PS3USBJailbreak yesterday and I can say, it's awesome. The Programming tool is fine, easy and looks good. The makers makes a good support for the dongle and now you can load your 64kb memory which any *.hex you want ! The dongle is great. I think the dongle can be reach my #1 ! It's better for Jailbreaking than the P3Go. A good buy !
