    I see where he zeroed out from line 81 on. here is line 80-92 in AerialX:

    And here is line 80-92 original PSGroove:

    [Register or Login to view code]

    I am going to assume that line 81-92 from the original will have to be patched in but I will have to figure out how without the makefile replacing the .h that I edit.

    Thats easy, if you want to keep your .h files, simply change the Makefile:

    Makefile:

    make clean
    make
    edit the port1 descriptor.h and save it
    make -f Makefile.psgroove

    if you open psgroove.c youll notice it doesnt change any of the h files, it is really only for making the hex.

    I actually had the files backwards and didn't realize it because of the app I use to compare files. there is more going on in the AerialX one the zeroed out one is the original PSGroove. I am still mowing over it though.

    here's the payloaders for easy viewing in a hex editor. as evilsperm mentions, there is a lot more going on. ive only managed so far to boot the ps3 with no proper payload at all (no install packages/etc), or boot the ps3 and and have it black screen.

    lets hope psgroove team doesn't start doing this, although i'm sure they will. backup manager == your a pirate no matter how badly you want to save your ps3's laser

    @illness
    What type of board do you have?

    I may have figured it out but I won't put the BM on my ps3 lol so I will compile you a version I just tweaked and see if you can get it to launch a backup.

    eboot off usb works, backup manager doesn't. what files did you edit? i noticed there was no port1 descriptor.h so im guessing you edited the ppc code and not the c header?

    it looks like all you changed was the port1_config_descriptor section in descriptor.h

    this is disabled though. explains why it acts identical to the original

    /*
    */

    putting those around certain areas == disable.

    descriptor.h was edited again to reflect the original PSGroove descriptor.h and commented out port 1 as in AerialX's descriptor.h with /* */ or it wouldn't compile, even though the commented out portion of AerialX's is different. So I believe it still has to do with descriptor.h

    here is AerialX's portion of decriptor.h

    This is what I have replaced it with:

    I understand it was commented out but it still doesn't explain why he would strip port1_config_descriptor down. It's pretty clear that onst uint8_t PROGMEM port1_config_descriptor is quite different, it is 1/2 the size of the descriptor.h from PSGroove 1.1 so now its time to figure out how to get this working
