My computer has a parallel port, but wouldn't I also need to attach one to the PS3?

What I am really wondering is if I can take one from an old printer or something and use that on the PS3.

The PS3 does not need a parallel port, you are just connecting a parallel cable to your PC's parallel port, and then connecting certain data lines to your PS3 - does that make sense?

Oh, lol. Yeah. But wouldn't it be easier to just put a port on the PS3? Well then that should be pretty easy.

I mean to put this should be easy before the thing about the parallel port.

I suppose you could, but you would still need to connect that port to your PC's port with a parallel cable - doing it all at once just saves time! Plus, there may be limits on the length of the cable you can use.

What does connecting with a parallel port do?

You connect it to the RAM bus where you can glitch with 40 ns to gain access to the memory...

There is a software to give the 40 ns pulse...
