    PS3 Debug / Test (DEX) Firmware 3.71, 3.72 and 3.73 Surface

Following up on the recent PS3 DEX & SDK leaks, today some more PS3 Debug / Test Firmware versions have surfaced from anonymous for collectors including 3.71, 3.72 and 3.73 updates.

Previously, a PS3 Debug 3.72 Patch Update surfaced between PS3 Debug 3.70 and PS3 Debug 3.74 revisions, but now the missing full DEX PUPs are available.

    Download: PS3 Debug / Test Firmware 3.71 Update (171.5 MB) / PS3 Debug / Test 3.72 Firmware Update (171.5 MB) / PS3 Debug / Test 3.73 Firmware Update (171.5 MB)

    Changes in Release 371.001
    Code:
        [Bug fix]

        (B#96198)
        - SDATA contents could not be read if SDATA file was included in MSELF file.
        This bug has been fixed.

        [Known Issues/Restrictions]

        - Validation of a media or the file system itself cannot be performed
from the Check menu in the Game column.

When submitting a master disc, make sure to verify the disc that no error
is present using the Disc Image Generator for PlayStation(R)3 or
the Disc Image Checker for PlayStation(R)3.

        - When performing the check from the Check menu in the Game column,
if the number of result files exceeds approximately 80 to 100 depending
on each check item, the file entries of the root directory in the USB
mass storage run out and the subsequent check result files may no
        longer be stored.
In such case, move the check result files to another directory.
    Changes in Release 372.001
    Code:
        [Bug fix]

As always, it's important to note that these PS3 Debug / TEST updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and so it is intended for examination and comparison purposes only unless you own a Dev unit.

For those curious, running this updater on a retail PS3 will not damage it, however, it will give the following error before the installation completes: The data type is not supported. (8002F029)

    Lightbulb

Try refreshing the page, as the links had a space in them due to the forum adding it beyond so many characters in a row... they should be fixed now though.

If not, you can always download them here directly also: http://www.ps3news.com/forums/downlo...p?do=cat&id=21

Holy wow! Not even 2 days I check back and there's more! Awesome! Though with all these releases, I'm not wondering if someone somewhere has the full / proper Shop updates for 2.42, 2.51 and 4.45. These are the only ones I'm missing in my collection now. So if anyone anywhere has them, it would be awesome to get them. Thanks for the releases!!
