    PS3 Debug Firmware 3.15 PSP Emulator Details and FileList

    Sponsored Links
    We recently got a chance to explore the new PS3 Debug 3.15 firmware, and discovered that contrary to PS3 Firmware 3.10 the 'PSPemu' PSP emulator folder in /dev_flash of version 3.15 is no longer hidden.

    The 3.15 PSPemu folder filelist is below, and is a bit interesting.. In the root of the folder contains the emulator, psp_emulator.self, the translator psp_translator.self, a folder labeled release, and of course a folder labled flash0.

    For anyone familiar with the PSP, flash0 is of course the flash. It contains basic folders, with fonts, logos, and user PRX's.

    The release folder contains different SPRX's requried for the emulator, from system, to umd and even network files.

    To of course, quell any giant "we can make a CFW for the PSP work on the PS3" - it's not going to happen any time soon, things will still be signed from PSN, ala a PKG, which we can not edit - so sadly any luck with trying to inject our own code will be useless for now.

    PS3 Debug Firmware 3.15 PSP Emulator FileList:

    Nice to see the PSPEmu files finally surfaced.. I can only wonder now if the PS3 Debug Firmware 3.15 will leak out to the public or not.

    LOL CJ hates (with a passion) Windows... he's primarily on Linux actually.

    Funny fact!

    Finally some nice (and real might I add) news!!! Keep it up!
    Some day, all the info that was gathered will prove useful... that day is not that far away now...

    And now for some funny fact: Let's just consider a proper release day for a custom fw X! When the PS3 launched, if someone told me that a hack will come 1142 days sooner I would of actually kissed him (on the mouth, with tongue ). Actually that is actually true because X is now X-3 years, 1 month, 16 days )

    *Release date calculated from Jap release! Hope I could bring a smile on your faces!

    Lightbulb

    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/umd9660.sprx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/umdcache.sprx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/umdman.sprx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/usersystemlib.sprx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/vaudio.sprx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/release/wlan.sprx

    As you already guess it seems that its a full psp emulator that just got limited to play pspminis
    ....else i couldnt imagine why it should have code for the umd filesystem/wlan and anything else suspicious

    */dev_flash/pspemu/flash0/usermodule/libfont.prx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/flash0/usermodule/libheap.prx
    */dev_flash/pspemu/flash0/usermodule/libpsmfplayer.prx

    How come sony didnt sign those dlls... are they at least encrypted?

    greetz
