I've realised as I used the other method to dump and extract the metdlr I dont need to do it again so I've skipped that part and now booting into redribbon. yea a mouse cursor.
"sudo umount /dev/sda1"
bash: unmount: command not found
WHAT am I doing wrong this time? I'm doing exactly as it says. Is it me or the tutorial thats wrong? I've never had this much problems before. I actually downgrade and remarry BD drives to PS3s as a job so I know what I'm doing with a PS3 but this is nothing but problems for me.
I dont like Linux and it shows, I have nothing but problems with it. All I did was boot into RedRibbon, go straight to the Terminal and typed in that command and thats the result. Its the RedRibbon in the tutorial and the OtherOS++ from the tutorial as well.
DO I have to install it or run or live from CD? The tutorial says to run it live.
I found the problem. The tutorial is WRONG. Its missing a LOT of parts. I don't have the commands as I haven't downloaded them and the live CD is missing them.
I'm using another tutorial and having a lot more luck as its downloading the missing commands.
Some questions & some (hopefully nice) ideas:
Questions:
After the whole process, i would be on DEX 4.11. Is petitboot still there 2 dualboot linux & DEX4.11?
Do we lose the capability of launch MM the "normal" way 2 start our Backups. (peek&poke), or can we switch between both methods [MM (old games) & USB-BD-EMU (new games)]
Can we go back 2 Rebug 3.55.2 without flashing?
Idea:
If petitboot gives us the possibility 2 dualboot, what about triple-boot? :
Linux
Rebug 3.55.2
DEX 4.xx
We need 2 store the dexflash.bin & the rebugflash.bin onto Linux-partition and a shell-script which flashes the relevant parts after selecting & before starting the system.
