i'd also like the guide, especially one with the tool that doesn't require linux. most guides seem to need you to have linux. i'm very close to trying it out

All neccessary infos are in this thread. I know reading all pages is annoying but start at the beginning and within the first couple of pages you got everything you need.

I did it with linux on a NAND, but dumping & flashing via advance prel. (NAND only i think)

that's what i'm talking about. i'm looking for (and i'm sure others are too) want a linux-less guide. i don't have much free room on either an external or internal drive. i know there was a program that dumped your code without linux and i'd like a guide with that in a neat format. i'm begging for a ylod if i use multiple guides which i would prefer not to do.

The program you're talking about is called eEID_RKDumper. Download and run eEID_RKDumper then copy dev_hdd0/tmp/eid_root_key to a usb drive.

Make a dump of your nor/nand with multiman it will dump it to the usb drive as something.NORBIN or something.NANDBIN. Now download CEX2DEX and extract it to your pc copy your eid_root_key to the same folder and rename it to dump copy your something.NORBIN adding .bin to the end.

Run CEX2DEX selecting your nor/nand dump for the flash dump and your eid_root_key for the METLDR dump hit CEX->DEX then save as DEX.EID0.NORBIN or DEX.EID0.NANDRBIN copy to your usb and flash it back with multiman.

I am on 4.20 DEX now (finally). Is there a tutorial on how to get games like Sleeping Dogs and Xcom working?

I read something about ps3gen? I need to format my external HDD with that program? And then?
