But keep in mind IF it works and we get some decrypted retail games out that i first want to release a few games and cleaning the scene before i release the source and the app and make everything open and free for all.
You are obviously right, I think you should not release it at all! Unless someone find the way to decrypt the bootloader any useful exploit should be kept secret! releasing the decrypted eboot would be the best thing for everybody
I think that patching 3.60 eboot should be relatively easy, problems come from 4.xx as sony changed a lot of stuff in the sdk =(

No, that's impossible unless someone manage to decrypt eid0 this would allow 3.55cfw to play newer games

He release, sony patch, we are all screwed again. He keep the secret, he release the eboot, we'll have to wait him to get all the eboot but sony won't be able to stop anyone.
Do you understand now?
cfwprophet said he had may ways to get the decrypted 3.60+ eboot.bins. Do you really want to be dependent on a group to release patched eboot.bins, or be able to do it you self?
If he releases one of the methods, there will still be the others which cfwprophet can keep secret. Besides being able to get decrypted elf files from the ram, may have other uses cfwprophet may have overlooked

Please forgive me if i'm wrong but i don't think he has "many ways", he doesn't really know event if his app works properly.
yes, i do... if after a public release sony can patch the exploit.. yes, definitely yes. i know it's a very big work, it is dangerous and booring... there're so many games that wait to get patched!!
however i'd prefer to get new eboot & self (you don't need to edit them for 3.55) and keep a way to play new games but get locked another time... and be honest, how many people do you think have the knowledge to edit a file to make it compatible? I think not more than 4~5.
