What's the error you're getting? depkg seems to be working for me...
    Code:
gcc -lz -lssl -o dePKG dePKG.c
    ./dePKG CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg CORE_OS_PACKAGE.decrypted
    read 0x4F125F bytes of pkg
    pkg data @ 300 with size 4f0f5f
    inflated: 0
    writing 6FFFE0
BTW, I used gpup to extract the PS3UPDAT.PUP

Perfectly agree, I was waiting this moment too. Now we can compare 3.15 with 3.41 with 3.55

we will see how Sony remove OtherOs.. we will see How sony removed Jailbreak.. we will see how the GT5 Protection work... NOT BAD my friends . Thanks to GEOHOT he his the BEST.

P.S. now probably will be out a 3.56 that will remove GAMEOS

Same results here, but... does your code look correct to you?

On mine, it seems to be good up to 0x460, then a large section of 0xFF's, followed by un-decodable data. I tried loading into IDA, but the data starting at 0x40660 isn't PPC code.

It could be that it's 3:00am and I'm doing something wrong
I'll try with a different PUP...

They can't really remove GameOS, so they are screwed for sure. Thx Geohot

    read 0xA713EA0 bytes of pkg
    pkg data @ ffffffff9cea2d19 with size 5a67b5306d0a278

What I'm doing wrong, I wonder

    Lightbulb

Just a little tip as it's happened several times already in this thread... when you reply (or quote), leave off any "@" characters or use "AT" instead guys, otherwise the post will be sent to the moderation queue and will take minutes/hours to appear because this is one way we catch spammers via their e-mail addys in spam posts.

hmm just a guess but you might want to try "depkg" a pkg file instead of a pup.

i.e the update.pup file needs to be extracted first!
