*** 3000 series SLIM and 4000 series SUPER SLIM hardware supported from launch
    * Manufactured at a high tech facility = superb quality

    Models supported:
    • One hardware revision supports all.
    • Our hardware has been designed to both fit inside and interface with the Super Slim version of the consoles, as well as the SLIM and older FAT systems.
    • If you upgrade at any time from a FAT to a SLIM or a Super SLIM, then there's no need to buy a new device....
    • Support for the newer consoles such as 25xx, 3xxx and 4xxx to run ISO's will be included at release.

    Game Ripping:
    • Functionality will be added shortly after release of the device via a firmware update.
    • Ripping speed will be almost as fast as that reached by connecting drive to PC and users will benefit from the convenience of a hassle free game ripping experience! Rip games directly on PS3 to an external USB HDD in ISO format.
    • Additionally we will provide a PC app at time of release of the product to market which allows conversion of JB game dumps to ISO format, so users can simply download games from the net and convert them with our app. The app will patch additional data required to create necessary ISO format.

From deank of the Cobra Team: The EBOOT.BIN (and other .self/.sprx files) for disc games are signed as regular non-NPDRM executables (like RELOAD.SELF, SHOWTIME.SELF included in mM/RetroArch/etc).

If mM is started via ISO on OFW + ODDE it will have exactly the same functionality as it had on 4.xx OFW DEX few months ago.

If they release a tool to convert a folder to a proper ISO then you can pack any homebrew which is properly written and path-independent. If the homebrew requires access to the PS3 filesystem for temporary storage (like saving/reading settings, caching stuff) it will have to create a proper game-data folder for itself and work with that path (basically the app must follow the standard ps3 conventions for disc games). mM already has this support for over an year when I experimented with discBOOT and burned a disc with multiMAN as a game.

Here is an example of how a converted homebrew looks (in this case mM):

    multiMAN [PSMOVE STARTER DEMO].iso (23MB)
    Code:
    \PS3_DISC.SFB

    \PS3_GAME\ICON0.PNG
    \PS3_GAME\PARAM.SFO
    \PS3_GAME\PS3LOGO.DAT

    \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN
    \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\GDATA.DAT

    \PS3_UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
You'll still have to convert your games to ISO files. I already mentioned that in such environment mM would behave like on OFW DEX (no peek/poke and other stuff), but it would still allow for launching Showtime, RetroArch, copying stuff from/to network, FTP... I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Finally, from https://twitter.com/naehrwert/status/256311576905256961: Have fun decrypting EID4 ('drive key') on non d/g models

Below are the details, as follows: We're pleased to present Cobra-USB FW V6, available along with the respective CFW 4.30 from the downloads section!

After successful Beta testing, we can confirm that Cobra now operates on 4.30 CFW, allowing you to enjoy the latest releases whilst enjoying Cobra functionality as well. Thanks to all Cobra USB owners for their patience and support. Look out for the soon to be released Cobra ODE, bringing freedom and versatility to the scene!

*Please note that region free support for PS1/PS2 titles still needs to be improved in future firmware update.*

Make sure after unpacking that CFW matches this MD5: 56804e976b26b25e7b6fd3053eea119c *PS3UPDAT.PUP

Cobra CFW 3.55 and Cobra FW v6.00 doesn't work. You have to update Cobra dongle and your PS3 system.

After update to Cobra CFW 4.30:

    MultiMAN 4.18.04 under system information
    mmCM 04.10.00
    FW 3.55 [SC-35 | PL3]
    USB Dongle: Cobra v6

    COBRA.CFW.CEX_4.30.rar

    PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
    PS3/UPDATE/MD5.EXE
    PS3/UPDATE/56804e976b26b25e7b6fd3053eea119c.MD5

Update: mmCM v4.18.04 BASE (20130118) and mmCM v04.18.05 BASE (20130124) (Mirror) have been released for all Cobra-USB users to enjoy, and 'it seems to improves some games compatibility', and remember the last time mmCM was updated was back in Nov. 7th, so this brings the Cobra-USB up to date with all the latest changes and improvements to 'multiMAN' as listed http://pastie.org/pastes/5839128/text!

Also deank has made available a multiMAN v04.18.05 BARE CEX (20130125) (3.8 MB) / ULE.iso for Cobra by sealhealy (ULE iso with working USBD.irx. Just go into ULE configuration and change USBD.irx to the one located at cdfs:/) / ISO.BIN.ENC by samson (encrypted it with CaptainCPS-X's placeholder info and was right does not work on 3.55, please can somebody try this on 4.21 and let me know if it runs, thanks)

From szczuru: Does not work m8 I've changed configuration of uLe but still usb drive can't be found. I've tried to save configuration and reload uLe but still same issue USB drive that i want to run works perfect on PS2 and PS3.

BARE version = simplified theme, no custom fonts (using only PS3 system fonts), English GUI only - that's why the install size is just 3.8MB. It can be installed on any PS3 without the need of previous mM version and also can be updated online when new versions are released.

    • Added option in "Settings" - "Remote Access Permissions" (Disable/Files/Screen/Full) to restrict remote connnections to your PS3

    • Screenshot feature in multiMAN (START+R2) will now save screens as JPEG.
    • The improved PC ps3netsrv application allows much faster access speeds when retrieving data from folders in mmOS or when browsing photo/music/video/ROMs from remote /net_host. You can now browse a remote folder with roms+covers and it takes a fraction of the time it took before.
    • The Remote Access feature allows you to connect to another PS3 anywhere in the world (be it in the other room or across the country) and copy files/folders, play Retro ROMs, view photos and play music and video files (after caching)
    • The Remote Access Control (PS3) feature allows you to connect to another PS3 running multiMAN and view its screen and control it with your pad. It allows you to minimize the current session and work with your own PS3 (to transfer files to the remote PS3 for example) and then return to the other PS3.
    • The Remote Access Control (PC) feature via aldostools mmRAS client allows you to connect to your PS3 (or any other PS3 around the world running multiMAN) from your PC.
    • The option in "Settings" (Remote Access Permissions) allows you to configure the access to your PS3. You can completely "Disable" it, you can allow remote connections only to access your "Files", you can restrict it only to remote control "Screen" or allow "Full" access for files and screen control.
    • The Remote Access Control provides 960x540 resolution (it doesn't depend on the remote PS3 resolution).
    • To be able to use these features you have to configure your remote peers in "Settings" -> "Network Servers".
    • Any configured /net_host can be used for file access (PC and PS3) and for remote control (PS3)
    • If you are connecting to a PC you must have ps3netsrv application running on the PC side
    • If you wish to restrict access to your PS3 - change the setting in "Remote Access Permissions"
    • If you wish to connect to another PS3 configured as /net_host - use the "Connect to Another PS3" function in "Settings"
    • While connected to another PS3 you can 'minimize' the connection and work with your own PS3 and then resume the remote control. You will see the live minimized remote screen in the lower corner. To switch between local/remote control use [START]+[SQUARE]. To terminate a connection to a remote PS3 use [START]+[CIRCLE]. All other buttons you press will be sent to the remote PS3.

MultiMAN v04.19.00 Out, Now Includes PSOne (iSO) Disc Image Support

MultiMAN v04.19.00 is out and now includes PSOne (iSO) Disc image support with details below from deank, as follows:

    Download: multiMAN v04.19.00 Update (20130126) (12.36 MB) (CEX/DEX/STEALTH updates) / multiMAN v04.19.00 Update (20130126) (Mirror)

multiMAN 04.19.00 is now available online for CEX/DEX/STEALTH:
    • Added initial support for single-disc PS1 ISO/BIN backups (/PSXISO /PSXGAMES folders)
    • PS1 ISO/BIN backups will show in the RETRO column
    • PS1 ISO/BIN backups compatibility is much lower than burned PS1 CD backups

    * Credits for the PS1 EMU patches go solely to Estwald/Hermes

Memory cards are stored per game in the same folder as the game. Covers can be named as the iso/bin with .jpg (3264x3264 max) or .png (416x414 max) extension (or as COVER.JPG (3264x3264 max) when using PSXGAMES folder with game-name subfolder).

Don't forget that pressing [SQUARE] in the RETRO column groups content (emulator ROMS, PS1/PS2/PSP).
