mmDM DEX Game Mounter and multiMAN v04.05.01 is Released

    Sponsored Links
Today aldostools made available a mmDM DEX Game Mounter alongside the release of multiMAN version 04.05.01 with details below.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] (35.21 MB) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror)

mmDM (Dex Game Mounter) will automatically convert the CEX/CFW(retail) games to DEX (debug eboot/sprx/self). It can also convert the modified files back to CFW. That was the whole point - it is all automated, active game is changed via mM or mmDM.
    • You pick your regular GAMES collection
    • Use it on DEX (mmDM will take care of the on-the-fly conversion)
    • Use it on CFW (mmDM can restore all changed games to CFW compatible)

The PS3 Tools Collection 2.0.1 (aldostools.org/ps3tools.zip) patches the "/dev_bdvd" -> "/app_home" just pressing Shift+Ctrl+Enter on the EBOOT.BIN/self/sprx from Windows Explorer.

One additional important setting is also required in ProDG:

Target Properties -> Target -> XMB Settings -> Debug Settings -> "GameContent Util Boot Path (/app_home/PS3_GAME) -> For Development

From the ReadMe File: mmDM: Aldo's DEX Game Mounter/multiMAN DEX Readme

    * Credits:
    • aldostools for creating a kickass app in couple of hours
    • zadow28 for the general idea, testing and being drunk as usual
    • gDrive for testing and being sober all the time
    • acab for the cheer up
    • GraVoX for getting settled

    What is included:
    • multiMAN 04.05.01 [DEX]
    • mmDM 01.00.00 [PC] (Aldo's PS3 DEX Game Mounter)

    Advantages:
    • No need for ps3gen and dedicated USB HDD with limitation for the number of games
    • No need to go to the PC each time you want to select a game (if mM is used)
    • Faster loading times via LAN
    • No need to split games
    • No HDD space required for games (only game data)
    • Works for 00.92-03.60 DISC game backups
    • Works for 03.70-04.20 DISC game backups with 03.55FW patched disc eboot/self/sprx files (not PSN/pkg patches)
    • If you prepare UPDATE packages for 03.70-04.20 games make sure to change all /dev_bdvd references in EBOOT.BIN/self/sprx files to /app_home

    What do you need:
    • A PC and a PS3 and wired LAN (and some brains)
    • Wired LAN connection from your PS3 to the local network

    • Install and configure ProDG / PS3 Target Manager to have your DEX PS3 visible in "Debugging Station (DECHA00J / .... )"
    • Click the green-refresh-arrows to scan your local network for a DEX PS3 (second row, third selection from the left)
    • Hopefully your PS3 will appear, so right-click -> Add target
    • Make sure that you have "Reset Mode" set to "System Software Mode" -> "Target -> Reset Mode -> System Software Mode"
    • Make sure that mmDM (DEX Mounter) is running on your PC and a game is mounted to Z:\ drive
    • Right-click on your target PS3 name and select "Set File-Serving Directory (app_home/)"

multiMAN DEX – network (PC)-located games have a little globe in the right-hand corner of the icon

Update: In related news, andbey0nd (with the help of aldostools) has also released genGP3 allowing PS3 DEX owners to use PS3 Generator without the need of setting up options, meaning you can now transfer games to a USB HDD that has been re-formatted for DEX-only usage.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror #2) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] by Abkarino / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

    From the ReadMe files: genGP3

    Usage: genGP3.exe GAME_FOLDER [output.gp3]
    Example: genGP3.exe x:\GAMES\FUNNY_GAME\PS3_GAME

    or

Drag and drop your game PS3_GAME folder to genGP3.exe
    • Use command prompt or drag & drop a PS3 game folder to genGP3.exe
    • It will create a .gp3 XML project file for PS3 Generator Tools
    • Use Generator tools to create a MasterDisc or BDEMU image (iso/emu)

    September 2012

    CHANGELOG:
    • 01.00 - Initial Release
    • 02.00 - Support for PS3_EXTRA (new format), support for Extra Content (Themes, Packages and Videos in PS3_EXTRA)
    • 02.01 - Added support for TITLE_XX, PIC*_XX, ICON*_XX, SND0_XX for PS3_GAME and PS3_EXTRA content and UTF8+BOM output
    • 02.02 - Added support for old extra content format PS3_GAME/PKGDIR/PKG**/INSTALL.PKG for installable packages (no PS3_CONTENT support for THEMEDIR/VIDEODIR)

Now it is possible to create scripts which otherwise would take over 30 mins to create when PS3_EXTRA folder is present with up to 1000 content folders for themes, videos and packages. 02.00 adds support for games like "Journey - Collector's Edition"

Here is example output of the app when PS3_GAME folder of 'Sleeping Dogs' was drag&dropped to 'genPS3.exe':

[Register or Login to view code]

    Project written to: H:\GAMES\BLES01661-[Sleeping Dogs]\BLES01661.gp3

In most cases, it only takes about 1 to 2 seconds to complete the operation, you then use this file in PS3 Generator.

Remember still only newer games which have 'retail updates' on the Sony servers can be played on DEX, this tool just makes using PS3 Generator easier. Enjoy

    From aldostools: genGP3.reg TIP:

    1. Extract the rar to C:\genGP3 (it should be that path!!!)
    2. Create a new text file with the following content and save it as "Associate genGP3 to Folders.reg"

[Register or Login to view code]

    3. Double click on "Associate genGP3 to Folders.reg"

Now you will be able to create the .gp3 file in 1 second just right-clicking on the PS3_GAME folder

To remove the association, create a text file with the following content and save it as "Associate genGP3.reg" and double click on it.

[Register or Login to view code]

.gp3 files are the XML used by the PS3GEN tool to build BDEMU images for PS3 develoment consoles (DEX or CEX-->DEX).

They are usually created by the PS3GEN tool filling some fields and drag/drop the files to PS3GEN. This tool automates the creation of the .gp3 file, saving time and strain in your hand.

MultiMAN v04.05.04 (DEX) Out, Now Includes More BDEMU Features

    Sponsored Links
Below is MultiMAN v04.05.04 (DEX), which now includes more BDEMU features as follows:

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] by A$h X

    CHANGELOG for mM v04.05.04 (DEX):

    What's New:

BDEMU games are accessible in the side-menu in Game column when user presses [TRIANGLE] over the [* Refresh]
    • Added support for mmDM 02.00.00 (Aldo's PS3 DEX Game Mounter PC application)
    • Added support for selecting and activating up to 10 games from BDEMU USB HDD (mmDM+ProDG+LAN required) - Press [TRIANGLE] while [* Refresh] is selected in Game column to access BDEMU games

Basically, it now supports changing games on the BDEMU HDD if mmDM (Aldo's DEX Mounter) is running + ProDG/TargetManager

Remember, for these on regular CEX/CFW the version is still only at v04.05.01 for mmCM (aka) multiMAN Cobra Manager.

Note: Aldo's mmDM 02.00.00 is required to make usage of the update, along with of course a DEX PS3 Console.

Finally, from A$h X: I've re-packaged (above) the newest DEX multiman (04.05.04) so it doesn't overwrite the old multiman, that way you can try it out without losing the ability of flash CEX dumps via older multiman versions.

    • Other minor changes.

    • Support up to 255 slots. (no tested yet)

mmDM PS3 DEX Game Mounter v02.03.04 Changelog:

    • mounts BDEMU slots: for slots 0, 1, 2, 3 it works fine.. for slots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (and probably up to 255) requires to reset the PS3 in 'Release Mode' after the slot of BDEMU is mounted (I added a message to remind that)
    • Now can show game covers for games installed on BDEMU slots (click on the PS3 logo to configure the game covers - download to the PC the "covers" folder from multiMAN's folder)

    • Added new grid mode: vertical list.
    • Added arrows icons on full screen mode to browse games using the mouse.
    • Support up to 255 slots.
    • Other minor changes.

From his site (linked above) on the PC application: It's a remote game mounter for PS3 DEX consoles. Requires the ProDG Target Manager to work. A x64 version is also available.

Finally, in related PlayStation 3 homebrew news andbey0nd has also released RCP_BDEMU v1.00 which essentially is a faster way to manage games on PS3 DEX consoles.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

From the author: Here is a separate standalone tool to serve the BDEMU communication on the PC side. It is small, fast and command-line type and will be included in mmDM 02.01.00 by aldo. It loads the BDEMU games in mM virtually at mM startup, mounts the games in 3-4 seconds and displays debug information in the command window.

[Register or Login to view code]

It requires that you pass the IP address of your PS3 as a parameter. You can pass a number for the number of BDEMU partitions as second parameter - the default is 4 (0..3).

    andbey0nd

Update: RCP_BDEMU v2.00 (10/15/2012) is now available (linked above) via deank with the following changes:

[Register or Login to view code]

If you don't set input parameters (IP and number of partitions) rcp_bdemu will try to auto-detect the IP and will assume 10 slots, but that only works if your PS3 is currently in "System Software Mode", otherwise you'll have to provide your PS3 IP address when you start rcp_bdemu.exe.

MultiMAN v04.05.05 and v04.05.06 (DEX), No PC / ProDG Necessary to Switch Games

Today MultiMAN v04.05.05 (DEX) and v04.05.06 are available which no longer requires a PC and ProDG to switch games followed by v04.05.07 and the changelogs below.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] (25.23 MB) / [Register or Login to view links] (25.23 MB) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] (25.23 MB)

multiMAN v04.05.05 DEX Base (20120909) Changelog:
    • Added support for selecting and activating up to 10 games from BDEMU USB HDD within multiMAN - NO NEED for PC+PRODG. To use the local BDEMU switching function a wired (local or internet) LAN connection is required and ProDG MUST NOT be connected - Use ProDG if you are using Aldo's mmDM 02.01.01.
    • Press [/\] while [* Refresh] is selected in Game column to access BDEMU slots
    • Retained support for mmDM 02.01.01 (Aldo's DEX Game Mounter)

Note: The PS3 must still be connected to active LAN cable due to the design of the DEX OS unfortunately.

Below are usage examples from Omnomnom, NeilJames and PatrickBatman (via ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/4661-Omnomnom?p=50944#post50944), noting that all games were tested with OFW DEX 4.21 as follows:

PS3 Games Tested with OFW DEX 4.21

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Update 1.01

This game will only run with the patch installed, so make sure it's set up properly first. Now, cut and paste your target folder and data00.pac file to your root directory. Copy data99.pac to your root directory also, but only copy it. The game looks for data99 in both spots, or else no boot. Enjoy

    AC Revelations Update 1.04

First, get the 1.04 update and install it to your PS3. Now get the n0drm 1.04 patch files and decrypt/re-encrypt the eboot and self files. Copy the decrypted files to your /dev_hdd0/game/BLES01467/USRDIR - don't bother copying the 50kb eboot, if you do the game will kick you back to the XMB.

Instead, decrypt the eboot from your game disc and re-encrypt it, turn it into a debug version. Now, copy that debug eboot [15,093 KB] to your /dev_hdd0/game/BLES01467/USRDIR directory. Alternatively, you can delete the 50kb eboot and rename scimitar_final.self to eboot.bin

Game will boot, install and run like a charm. Enjoy

    Alice Madness Returns

Cut and paste all the folders from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLUS/BLES root directory. Let it boot, install and you're good to go. Enjoy

    Assassin's Creed

Create a new, empty, folder and rename it to ASSASSIN_ISO, place it in within the USRDIR folder of your game, "BLES/BLUS30089/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ASSASSIN_ISO". The ASSASSIN_ISO folder is just an empty folder but it needs to be there for the game to run. Similar to the fix that's already out for the game to run from MM. That's it, boot your game and enjoy.

    Asura's Wrath

Cut and paste your BINARIES and BCGAME folders to your BLES/BLUS root directory. Game will now install properly! Enjoy

    Batman: Arkham City

Cut and paste all the folders from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLUS/BLES root directory.
Let it boot, install and you're good to go. Enjoy

    Bioshock 2 Update 1.03

Prepare the update for debug, resign the eboot/self files, etc - Now, take UW_PS3.self from the update and rename it to EBOOT.BIN - over-write the 75kb eboot with the one you renamed. The game will now boot and install properly. Enjoy

    Brink

Cut and paste your base folder from your USRDIR and paste it in your BLES/BLUS root directory. Also, make sure your PS3 is in release mode, or else black screen of doom. And don't ever update it with the 1.04 patch. Enjoy

    Bulletstorm

Cut and paste all the folders from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLUS/BLES root directory.
Let it boot, install and you're good to go. Enjoy

    Call of Duty: Black Ops

Cut and paste all files from your English folder and paste them in your USRDIR. Game will now boot and run properly.
    Credit to PatrickBatman! Enjoy!

After that, prepare the package and eboot/self files for debug. Install the package, delete the eboot and rename default.self to eboot.bin - game will now boot and play. If you leave the default eboot, the game gets stuck in a trophy error boot-loop - at least that's what ProDG says.

Call of Duty: World at War

Create a new folder in your USRDIR called zone. Now, cut and paste your English folder and paste it in your new zone folder. Game will now boot and run properly. Credit to PatrickBatman! Enjoy!

    Dead Nation

Put your NPUA80358 folder in your GAMEZ directory. Now, make a folder called PS3_GAME and cut/paste all the files from NPUA80358 into it. Debug your eboot, make sure the reg.edat and reg_road.edat files are in the USRDIR as well. Enjoy

    Deux Ex: Human Revolution

I figured out how to get Deus Ex to run via LAN, as it would get stuck at the installing screen because the game realised it was being run on a 'DEV' console. Here's how to set it up -

In your BLES/BLUS folder, create a new folder called CACHE. Copy CACHE.000, CACHE.000.md5 and CACHE.001 from PS3_GAME/USRDIR to your CACHE folder. Do not cut, copy. DO NOT CUT. Cut the DATA folder from PS3_GAME/USRDIR and paste it in your BLES/BLUS directory.

This tricks the game into thinking it's been installed on your PS3's HDD0. The great thing about this is you don't have to install it to the PS3, and in boots pretty damn fast. I've tested it for about an hour, saves are working, voices, textures, etc. Everything seems to be in order. I hope this helps anyone who ran across this problem like myself.

    Devil May Cry HD Collection

Copy and paste everything from your USRDIR to your root BLES/BLUS folder. Copy, not cut. You're essentially making a 9GB mirror.
Not really worth it in my opinion, but hey. Whatever. Enjoy

    Dishonored

Find the DUPLEX eboot patch and prepare it for debug - [thank you DUPLEX!] Cut and paste all directories from your USRDIR and paste them in the root of your BLES/BLUS directory. Game will now boot, install and run properly. Enjoy

    Doom 3

Cut and paste your d1bfg and d2bfg folders to your BLES/BLUS root directory. Doom 1 and 2 will now be playable, otherwise you get kicked back to XMB. Thank you DUPLEX for the eboot and sdat fix! Enjoy

    Dragon's Dogma Patch 1.03

With the release of n0drm's 1.03 patch, the game now requires that you boot in 'Release Mode' and not 'System Software Mode'
You'll know if you did it right, as the game will obviously either load or hard lock and give you a black screen of doom.

The upshot of this patch is that it no longer wants to install game data to your PS3 hard drive, at least it didn't for me. I'm only clocking 13 MB of game data. Enjoy

    Driver San Francisco

Cut and paste your common folder from your USRDIR to your BLES/BLUS root directory. Enjoy

Enslaved - Odyssey to the West

Cut and paste your BINARIES and MONKEYGAME folder to the root of your BLES/BLUS directory.
    Boot and play. Enjoy

    Fear 2

Open default.archcfg from your USRDIR and modify it like so -

    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/Game
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/Layer.Arch01
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/LayerA.Arch01
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/LayerA_v101.Arch01
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/LayerL.Arch01
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DLC01.Arch01
    /app_home/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/TitleUpdate13.Arch01

The game will now boot and load properly. Enjoy

    God of War Ascension

Play from external: delete EXTRASCIN1.PSARC & EXTRASCIN2.PSARC in USRDIR. Open ARCHIVES file and overwrite with this:

[Register or Login to view code]

    God of War Origins Collection

Depending on what game you wish to play, rename coo.ppu.self or gos.ppu.self to EBOOT.BIN, then boot and play. If someone figures out the file/folder structure to play this without having to rename the self files, please let me know. Enjoy

Green Lantern Rise of the Manhunters

Make a folder in the USRDIR called PS3_GAME, then in that folder make a USRDIR folder. Then, extract both psarc files. Put binpak1 and gamepak1 in the new USRDIR, and move the GL folder from the extracted psarc into the new USRDIR. The game will now boot and load properly. Enjoy

    Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain via LAN. Here's how to do it - Cut everything from your USRDIR except for the EBOOT and paste it in your BCES/BCUS directory. Example - I cut everything from BCES00802\PS3_GAME\USRDIR and pasted it in my BCES00802 directory.

Best to have the patch installed as well, especially if you've got existing save data on your PS3 from the game. Game boots, installs and runs like a charm. Hope this helps others.

    Hunted - The Demon's Forge

Cut and paste your BINARIES and DFGAME folder from your USRDIR and paste them into your BLES/BLUS root directory.
The game will now boot properly. Enjoy

    Inversion

Get the unSANE fix and convert the eboot to debug. Cut and paste your two folders from the USRDIR and paste them in your BLES/BLUS root directory. Game will now boot and install properly. Enjoy

    Just Cause 2

Cut and paste everything from your USRDIR (including PathEngine.sprx, excluding EBOOT) and paste them into your BLUS root directory.
The game will now boot properly. Enjoy

    Lollipop Chainsaw

Get the 'UNSANE' fix and debug the eboot. Cut/paste your BINARIES & ASHGAME folders to your BLES/BLUS root directory. Enjoy!

    Lost Planet 2

Put the PS3 into release mode. Game should now boot and install properly. Enjoy

    Mass Effect 3

Cut and paste all the folders and psarc files from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLES/BLUS root directory. Enjoy

    Medal of Honor

Cut and paste all the folders from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLUS/BLES root directory. Let it boot, install and you're good to go. Volume on this game is stupidly low, not sure why. Enjoy

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection 1.01

You'll need your game, ripped to your PC hard drive and the 1.01 patch from EXEtrimALL.

Unpack the 1.01 package and change all instances of dev_bdvd to app_home in the eboot and the selfs, then re-encrypt them again. You'll also need to decrypt and then re-encrypt the sprx files as well. Use mmDM to turn the bin, self and sprx files into debug versions.

Do not install the 1.01 package you downloaded. It will lock your game up, and you'll get frustrated like I did. Instead, you can make a backup [if you want - I didn't bother] of your original bin, self and sprx files and replace them with the 1.01 debug versions.

Boot the game via LAN and all should be in order. Hope this helps others

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection 1.03

You'll need your game, ripped to your PC hard drive and the 1.03 patch from n0drm.

Download the 1.03 patch from n0drm and decrypt the bin, self and sprx files using klic key - E3A152EF3624CF89ABCDB1317D57CC6B - change all instances of dev_bdvd to app_home in the eboot and the selfs, then re-encrypt them again. You'll also need to re-encrypt the sprx files as well. Use mmDM to turn the bin, self and sprx files into debug versions.

Do not install the 1.03 package you downloaded. Copy mgs2d.psarc to your MGS2 folder and mgs3d.psarc to your MGS3 folder. Copy and replace bootloader.psarc in your BOOTLOADER directory. Replace your original bin, self and sprx files with the decrypted 1.03 debug versions.

Boot the game via LAN and all should be in order. Enjoy

Mortal Kombat / Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition

Mortal Kombat 9 / Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition via LAN! This was fairly difficult, purely because ProDG was next to no help in troubleshooting.

Decrypt and re-encrypt your eboot and the sprx. Cut and paste your SAVEGAMEART, SPLASH, LOCALIZATION, ASSET and CONFIG folders to your BLES/BLUS folder. All that should remain in your USRDIR is the EBOOT.BIN, DFENGINE.SPRX and the MOVIES folder. For the love of all the is holy, the MOVIES folder has to be in your USRDIR. Now you're free to boot the game and play. Patch 1.05 and the DLC available online work as well.

Here's how my folder for Mortal Kombat is set up, maybe you can try it how I have it.

    /dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30522/USRDIR/

    Inside that folder is -

    EBOOT.BIN
    DLC [folder]
    PATCH [folder]
    MK9 [folder]

I'd strongly suggest having the 1.05 patch installed and the characters unlocked are at the very bottom of the character select screen.

For the 'Komplete Edition' follow the same steps outlined above, but you also need to download MKKEBLES.rar and install the package as you usually would for a DEX machine. Enjoy

    Motorstorm Apocalypse

Make a folder in your BLES/BLUS root directory called 'overrides' - no quotes. Cut and paste everything but the eboot from your USRDIR into this new 'overrides' directory. Game will now boot properly. Enjoy

    Mugen Souls (ENGLISH)

Rename your trophy directory to NPWR03137_00 - you'll have Japanese trophies and voices, English text and it seems to work so far. Be warned that the options menu is completely different, so good luck figuring out what options affect what Enjoy!

    Naruto Generations

Cut and paste your data folder from your USRDIR to your BLES/BLUS root. Game will now boot and install properly. Enjoy!

NARUTO Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 2

Cut everything in USRDIR (except EBOOT) and paste it into NeverDead\PS3_Release folder. Game will now run properly! Enjoy

    Ni No Kuni

For those interested in why Ni No Kuni is randomly freezing, it's because after a length of time there are FIOS errors unpacking the ADAT and SDAT files when the game calls for a specific file packed away in them, which will cause the game to hard lock. The 100% fix that I've found working is to unpack the ADAT and SDAT files to your BLES01555\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data folder and then moving the ADAT/SDAT files to a separate temp folder.

Before doing this, the game would lock up randomly anywhere from 5-30 minutes playing. Now I can play/leave the game any length of time without worry. So hopefully this helps people.

    NHL 11

Cut everything in USRDIR (except EBOOT) and paste it into BLES/BLUS root folder. Game will now run properly! Enjoy

    NHL 12 Update 1.03

Install 1.03 converted dex pkg (dex the 1.03 eboot and replace cex eboot) Cut everything in (full game backup) USRDIR (except EBOOT) and paste it into BLES/BLUS root folder. Game will now run properly! Enjoy

Operation Flashpoint: Red River / Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Install the patch as you would. Then, put the PS3 into 'Release Mode' and let it boot and install. Enjoy

    Prince of Persia Update 1.01

Game boots and installs no problem. Enjoy

Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands Update 1.01

To get this working, you need to install the patch to your PS3 as you usually would. From there, delete the small eboot.bin and rename game.self to eboot.bin

Game boots and installs no problem. You'll notice however that the game recognises the PS3 is a 'debug' kit, the install directory will be named NONAME-BD_DATA. Enjoy

    Prototype 2

Install the 3.55 fix from EXEtrimALL. If necessary rename your BLUS folder to BLES01532. Cut and paste everything from your USRDIR with the exception of the eboot to the root of your BLES folder. Boot, install and you're good to go. Enjoy

    Rage Update 1.01

Another tricky one, mostly because ProDG doesn't give intelligent feedback half the time when there's a problem. But I digress.

Download the 1.01 update pkg. Unpack it, and convert the eboot and self to debug. Now copy the eboot and self to your USRDIR, overwrite the original eboot and then load your game.

It installs without a problem, and you can remove the 'mp' directory as it's for multiplayer. Saves you a good six gig. Enjoy

    Rayman Origins

You need the n0drm fix for this. Cut and paste everything from your USRDIR with the exception of the EBOOT and paste it in your BLES/BLUS folder. Game will boot and run just fine. Enjoy

Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD version 1.02 [NPEB00553]

    Resident Evil 6

Boot your PS3 in release mode, get the eboot fix and play. Works with no problems. Enjoy

    R.U.S.E.

I couldn't get the sprx files to convert to debug for the life of me. I tried mmDM and various other methods. What finally worked for me, was renaming each sprx to EBOOT.BIN, converting them with mmDM and then renaming them back. If you can convert them without having to rename them, great. Otherwise, try it this way. Enjoy

    Saints Row 2

Rip your own copy or source a proper, first one I grabbed was broken. Cut and paste everything from your BLES/BLUS PS3_GAME/USRDIR with the exception of the eboot and paste it into your BLES/BLUS root directory.

Boot and install. Note: If you want to use the 1.30 patch, it's a bit of a process. First, prepare the pkg and install it to your PS3. Then, use ProDG or an FTP program and go to your /dev_hdd0/game/BLES00373/USRDIR and delete the eboot.bin - if you try and boot from it, the game will kick you to the XMB. Next, take the 1.30 eboot from the pkg and turn it into a debug eboot. Now take that debug eboot and paste it over your original disc eboot. Enjoy

    Saints Row 3

    Saints Row 3

Cut and paste the ps3_content & videos folder from your USRDIR and paste them in your BLES/BLUS root directory. Make sure all the latest patches are installed and the patch eboot is a debug eboot. Boot and install.

Boot, install and game on! Enjoy

    Tony Hawks Project 8

Here's a fun one for everyone to enjoy. Under USRDIR\DATA\PS3MODULES you'll see three files with the extension CHK - those are actually self files. Rename them from CHK to SELF and turn them into debug versions. Now rename them back from SELF to CHK and load the game. Enjoy

    Tony Hawk Shred

You have to have one of the stupid boards for the game to work. I didn't realize this, so be warned not to waste bandwidth.
Cut and paste everything except for the eboot from your USRDIR to your BLES/BLUS root directory. Enjoy

    Tron Evolution

Cut everything (besides eboot) in USRDIR and paste into BLES/BLUS root directory. Enjoy

    Uncharted 2

    White Knight Chronicles Update 1.01

Let me start by saying - holy hot crap, this was hard to figure out. This game will not run without that patch installed for starters, so make sure it's installed and the eboot is converted to debug. Now for the fun. Make a directory on your computer hard drive called HDD_GAMEDATA so that your directory looks like this "BLES/BLUS PS3_GAME\USRDIR\HDD_GAMEDATA"

Cut and paste every psarc that ends with the letter H into that new directory. You should have eight, totaling 2.64 GB. Now, copy those same eight files to your PS3 hard drive - /dev_hdd0/game/BCES00225/USRDIR

That's it. Follow those instructions very careful, even a slight misstep can cause it to fail. Good luck! Enjoy?

White Knight Chronicles 2 Update 1.01

Only runs if you install the patch, so do it. DOOOOOO ITTTTTTT. Make a directory on your computer hard drive called HDD_GAMEDATA so that your directory looks like this "BLES/BLUS PS3_GAME\USRDIR\HDD_GAMEDATA"

Cut and paste every psarc that ends with the letter H into that new directory. You should have three, totaling 4.06 GB. Now, copy those same three files to your PS3 hard drive - /dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30784/USRDIR

Finally, move your data folder to the root directory of your BLES/BLUS folder. That's it. Follow those instructions very careful, even a slight misstep can cause it to fail. Good luck! Enjoy?

From NeilJames: The following is confirmed working with REX 4.21 CFW in full DEX mode.

I managed to get Final Fantasy XIII-2 to work 100% from mmDM, "NO FREEZING!!! at Slot Machines or Chocobo Racing in Serendipity." It's somewhat a simple process but explaining it can be a tad difficult. I had to resign the "Original/Untouched" EBOOT.BIN and .sprx files located in, "BlUS30776\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\", with the new 3.56+ keys so that mmDM would not produce decryption errors upon mounting the game for DEX mode.

After resigning the files with proper keys, mmDM is able to mount the game flawlessly. Next is the 1.06 UPDATE, I FTP'd into the already installed update located at "dev_hdd0\game\BLUS30766\USRDIR\" and deleted the "N0DRM" EBOOT.BIN and .sprx files so that I can add the "original/untouched" files from the Official 1.06 update.

With Aldostools "ps3tools" I downloaded the OFFICIAL 1.06 update and extracted only the EBOOT.BIN and .sprx files from within the "USRDIR" folder. After extracting the files I FTP'd the .sprx files back to the "dev_hdd0\game\BLUS30766\USRDIR\" folder, untouched, no need to resign.

As for the EBOOT.BIN, before FTPing it back to the PS3 I needed to unself the EBOOT.BIN to HEX-Edit "dev_bdvd" to "app_home". I believe Aldostools "ps3tools" can do this by pressing, "Ctrl+Shift+Caps Lock+Enter" but I did it manually. Once the EBOOT.BIN is fixed simply FTP the EBOOT.BIN back to the PS3 located at "dev_hdd0\game\BLUS30766\USRDIR\".

Now that all the fixes are done you can mount the game with "mmDM/ProDG TM" and run the game with no freezes! ^^

PROTIP: I was only able to resign the EBOOT.BIN and .sprx files with Aldostools "ps3tools" after adding the keys from TrueAncestor EBOOT Resigner 4.1 into "ps3tools".

I understand this tut can be somewhat difficult to understand so if Omnomnom can simplify this tut, that'd be great. Hopefully Omnomnom gets what I'm saying so that he can add it to 1st page lol.

PS.USERS on 3.55: I have not tested this with 3.55 DEX CFW so I'm unsure if this method will work. I understand the files would have to be resigned with 3.55 keys but we already had that with the N0DRM files and that's where the freezing came from to begin with. Maybe I'll give it a shot since with REX CFW I can swap from 4.21 to 3.55 and back to 4.21 pretty easy. ^^

multiMAN v04.05.06 DEX Base (20120909) Changelog:
    • Fixes various lockup errors on selecting games

multiMAN 04.05.07 DEX Base (20120910) Changelog:
    • 04.05.07 adds an additional screen after 'retrieving bdemu game titles' which should fix the issue for the impatient users who tried to mount a game within 1 to 5 seconds after the scan was completed, which caused a lock in .06.

From haxxxen: Kind of DEX REBUG to take ingame screenshots.. so i have succeeded in taking pictures with codeunique/mM on a converted dex mfw. it was quite some hassle, but it was worth it and works really fine if all steps taken exactly. in addition, you can use rebug selector and change the debug menus, either the normal dex debug menu or the cex qa debug menu, which allows backup function and clone internal hdd function. and even rebug update packgages work after the installations

NOTES: this could cause rsod, so be careful and i am not responsible as everything works fine on my dex ps3. such rsod can be easily repaired by reinstalling firmware. this is of course only for (converted) dex consoles running 3.55 MFW with peek and poke
i have already included the kmeaw lv2_kernel.self in the archive, so you just have to install lv2loader and run it to load the kernel

    Instruction:

install all zips with latest multiMAN (doubleclick on zip in mmOS), and then install the official rebug selector. now you can run rebug selector to change retail or debug xmb/vsh and also use the 2 different debug menus. first one is the normal debug menu, 2nd is the qa menu

to take pictures with codeunique/mM you have to first switch to retail xmb with selector. this will remove of course the debug settings, which are hardcoded in debug vsh.self

to run codeunique and take (cheat) screenshots on a dex, you first have to switch to retail xmb with selector and then after reboot start lv2loader to load alternative kernel. this will also reboot ps3. after this you are good to go to run codeunique and take ingame screenshots on a dex, as long as you do not reboot.

ahh, forgot to give credits to Team REBUG (and dex leaker)... here the zip files to install. i have included latest rebug selectors in the default folder. you can find them in "dev_flash/rebug/packages/" after installation of zips. and there is no spoofer on rebug mode, just plain 3.55 dex !!! ok, react patches applied, too.

i even have repacked latest dex multiMAN 04.05.07 with the RELOAD eboot from CEX version. this way it runs more smoothly and much less freeze problems. i can also flash DEX2CEX this way without error or problem...

Some sideinfo: vsh.self.swp is patched with react and unsigned apps, and vsh.self.cexsp version is from official Rebug (=same patches for CEX version), but i have patched build version to match debug's 3.55, just in case. i have tested such things some time ago on actual DEX leak, but there i have got rsod when i have switched to retail xmb and no apps or games were running with a spoofer applied in Rebug mode. but could also have been because i have patched the files wrong back then.

When using retail xmb and kernel, this is indeed a full hybrid, at least as far as i have tested it. even the old mM v2 works with bdemu2 and hermes syscall 8. maybe this way Blu-ray movies also run on a 3.55 DEX? if it is firmware based, maybe we can exchange DEX BD update PKG with CEX update PKG? not that i need it, but wouldn't this make DEX perfect and the better choice?

From hansdamft: This is a patched genlib for 10 slots, just 2 bytes changed at offset 0x0005D979. i think it can be also patched for assigning the size of partition but i am no cracker. i have found this info somewhere else, dunno where it was you have to switch them with ps3gen (on pc) and they will work. i have tried one more, first created and then mounted, but this did not work. at least on 500gb.

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

Tested on 3.55 DEX MFW.. using the open PS3Gen and 10 slots, i've got 80010017 error on all images except the first one. think even writing image with open manager did not work, but not sure about this anymore. i have only tested XMB, not manager loaded. the 10 various, PS3Gen mounted images were valid and bootable from XMB.

Kind of DEX Hybrid with Rebug functions:

Credits to Team Rebug and deank for tools and anonymous person for DEX leak (and of course KGeminis for the idea)

First off, i am outing myself as cheater, because i have tried all this only because i wanted codeunique running on dex mfw... and the fact, the screenshot plugin does not work on a dex made me sick and i wanted to get a workaround for this

The benefits of a dex hybrid are:
    • Rebug Selector works
    • you can select between 2 debug menus (DEX/CEX)
    • old homebrew does work (even old payloads ala hermes syscall 8)
    • my favourite: codeunique works
    • screenshot plugin works in retail mode and ingame with codeunique
    • you even could run rebug update packages afterwards
    • (- maybe getting Blu-ray/DVD movies on DEX this way to work?)

    The risks:
    • it could give you RSOD if switching vsh.self, but it is easily repairable by reinstalling firmware from recovery menu. i haven't encountered any so far with this setup

    You need:
    • a 3.55 DEX MFW with peek and poke (converted)
    • multiMAN CEX latest version 04.05.00 (zip functionality)

The zips: it is everything included you will need, even the official Rebug packages, the selectors and lv2loader, but you can download them from Rebug of course.

[Register or Login to view links]

Instructions: just install all the zip files by doubleclick on mmOS with the latest multiman version 04.05.00, which has zip capability. these will install to dev_flash automatically, but to the proper places, so no worries and no devblind needed.

Now you can copy the official rebug packages i have provided from "dev_flash/rebug/packages" (this folder is necessary) to your usb and install them. just select only one of the selectors (i prefer v 1.5 as it is "zoomed" on my screen) and lv2loader.

From now on, you can run rebug selector and choose different debug menus (i have included the CEX QA menu as 2nd) or the retail XMB.. the advantage of CEX QA menu is, it gives the option in system settings to backup all your files, or in debug settings the internal hdd clone feature.

On Rebug mode there is no spoofer applied, as i have had problems on my first try and no app or game was running when i switched to spoofed Rebug mode. it spit every time some error, but dunno which one anymore, so Rebug mode works same as normal mode ! Rebug's ReActPSN patches are also applied on Rebug mode and retail mode.

To be able to run codeunique, just start installed lv2loader and wait on its blackscreen for few seconds. it will beep 3 times and reboot automatically. now after reboot you can run codeunique without any problem as long as you do not reboot.. this will also enable older homebrew such as multiMAN v2 with its bdemu2 payload, but on the other hand it will disable some debug functions like dex bdemu option. (to get everything to normal DEX, just do a reboot)

To take screenshots with multiman or any supporting app, you have to run Rebug selector and switch to retail xmb. this will reboot ps3 and your xmb will look most likely different than before. It will display all retail XMB entries but also remove debug settings option.. to take ingame screenshots with codeunique, you have to select first retail XMB with Rebug selector and after its reboot you also have to run lv2loader.

Finally after the 2nd reboot you can run codeunique and take ingame (cheat) screenshots on a DEX from ingame XMB to get DEX back just run Rebug selector and choose either normal or Rebug mode debug XMB.

From cfwprpht: Hybrid of DEX BIOS and Retail FW files:

Here we go... The Alphabetical Sort Mod for the games Category:

It's just a tiny patch in the registory.xml. A changed value (+ 2 -) and a bit of changing the deffination. We kick out "Common.timeCreated+Game:" and put on the end "Common.title-Game:" before "Game.category</String></Pair>" What a mighty patch. You can do that also for other categories or self made segments. Self made segments don't need to be patched in the registory.xml. You can do that in the segment code's direct by only change the value from + to - or other way around.

    Patch:

    Patched Value in registory.xml:

The ADD Xtra PARAM.SFO values to the XMB Mod:

To add two additional sfo param's (X0&X4) to the xmb we also first need to patch the registory.xml. After that you can use them in your own made segment and they will only pop up there. So we patch the registory.xml to exclude it from the game category. The sfo param's are no hack. It seems that they are speciall non used sfo param's which also can be set with official sony sdk tools like ps3sys.exe.

    Patch:

    Orig Value in registory.xml:

Now you can add the sfo param to you segment code like that:

Don't forget to patch the param.sfo of your app/game you want to put in that cat.

SRY for being listed MM as last and not after LV2 Loader but that's in case of ANSII and MM start's with a "m" and not with a "M".

By the way i don't know if it is knowen well but you can use the source of SELF/SPRX Decrypter v0.6 of ".oO Heden / DeLiGhT'2012 Oo." to decrypt some of the DEX 4.21 FW files.

If i recall right it was /dev_flash/sys/external which KDSBest and i played around. (If not external then internal, don't hit me :P )

From aldostools: I made this simple patcher: it patches offset 0x0005D979 of genelib.dll with the selected number of slots (1-255) and then launches ps3gen.exe

Download: aldostools.org/start_ps3gen.exe / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] (Update)

I hope it works Just copy the start_ps3gen.exe in the same folder of ps3gen.exe (use start_ps3gen.exe whenever you need to change the default number of slots)

Note: it keeps a backup of the original genelib.dll (as genelib.dll.bak). It's only checking file size of genelib.dll (it is not checking CRC32 or hash of the file). I updated the tool now checks file size and the MD5 of genelib.dll

mmDM PS3 DEX Game Mounter v02.01.03 By Aldostools Arrives

Here are more file attachments for the above post from aldostools... also below is a mmDM Game FAQ by Patrick Batman & Omnomnom (via ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/4951-mmDM?p=53518#post53518):

mmDM Game FAQ - Patrick Batman & Omnomnom

    1.00 patches:

put patch files in full game backup let mmDM convert files to DEX on mount

    1.01+ updates:

Get official sony update convert pkg to DEX with aldostools, highlight sony update pkg press ctrl+shift+enter (Will make cex sony package into pkg.original, dex will become .pkg, and there will be extracted folder of sony cex pkg.)

    If 3.55 and lower update:

Take any eboot/sprx/self files out of extracted cex sony pkg folder (from above step), create temp folder put in there for now.

    If N0DRM patched update:

Put patched N0DRM files in temp folder for now. Install newly created DEX PKG on PS3. Put temp folder with N0DRM files or 3.55 or lower eboot/sprx/self etc in USRDIR of any game, then mount that game. This will convert them to DEX.

In target manager on the left there is Target explorer hit the plus sign next to icon of debug unit with green light and IP address. Pick file explorer browse to dev_hdd/game/(Game ID) of dex update pkg you previously installed. Drag and drop converted DEX files in USRDIR/temp folder to dev_hdd/game/(Game ID).

    ERRORS & WHAT TO DO:
    • 80022D74 = Trophy error (or any message involving trophies) - delete trophies for game (XMB>GAME>Trophy Collection>(hightlight game)press triangle delete

    • 8001003D / 8001003E = Needs disc error - Old update cex pkg or Dex pkg with eboot etc that's not fself (DEX) is installed. Delete update in game data utility if old CEX update, if dex add fself eboot, sprx, self etc files into dev_hdd0/game/(game title) Generally although mmDM instruct says so, changing dev_bdvd to app_home in eboots/sprx/self is not needed, actually pretty much never.

    • 80010009 error = change Boot mode from software to release mode in debug settings (Doesn't always work)

    • 80028F14 error = nothing mounted at app_home - Usually just give mmDM a few more moments to mount before selecting app_home

    • BLACK SCREEN - Generally files in full game backup need to be moved around. A lot of games just require moving folders in USRDIR to root folder (folder with PS3_GAME folder in it)To get an idea of where to move them, before starting game from app_home go to file serving in Target Manager's target explorer, click the green "play"button, then start game. Study the directories here and look at Console Output for hints. (Make sure all eboot/self/sprx are DEX by mmDM before moving stuff around)

Try to get as many games as you can working in System Software Mode as last resort try game in Release Mode.

Also some games are already posted at: http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-ha...tml#post426905

    -Patrick Batman & Omnomnom

Finally, from deank: Path for your games: X:\FOLDER1\FOLDER2\GAMES

    Example for a game path: X:\FOLDER1\FOLDER2\GAMES\BLES12345\PS3_GAME\USRDIR \EBOOT.BIN

Set "X:\FOLDER1\FOLDER2" as path in mmDM (as you noticed - GAMES is omitted).

mmDM starts ps3netserv using the path you selected for your games. multiMAN connects to ps3netserv and retrieves the games from the path + \GAMES (so it becomes X:\FOLDER1\FOLDER2\GAMES).

That's how it is supposed to work. Make sure that games are located in "GAMES" subfolder (not GAMEZ or anything else) and that the path set in mmDM is correct.

When you select a game and activate it, mM tells mmDM to convert the game to DEX (if needed) and then mmDM mounts it in /app_home.
