Child of Eden Confirmed as First PS3 3.7x Firmware Game

A few months ago Portal 2 was confirmed as the first PlayStation 3 game to be encrypted for PS3 3.60 Firmware, and this weekend scene release group DUPLEX have confirmed that Child of Eden by Ubisoft is the first PS3 3.7x Firmware title.

To quote from the Child.Of.Eden.PS3-DUPLEX release:

Release Info: Under the direction of world-renown creative director Tetsuya Mizuguchi. The PS3 version of the game is PlayStation Move compatible, but it's not required to play the game. With spectacular visuals and audio synchronized to the player's movements, Child of Eden is a captivating game that sets players off on a trip to decontaminate an unknown virus to restore hope and peace to Eden.

Child of Eden is the "multi-sensory shooter" that will send players diving into a kaleidoscopic matrix of synchronized music and mind-blowing visuals that will usher forth yet another landmark game experience from the mind of renowned game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, its creator.

When Portal 2 was released I though we would have it playable within 2-3 months, seems like I was wrong and we are now stuck on 3.70.

Lets hope DemonHades can revive the scene and give us a CFW that can play 3.60+ games.

It's just another game we can't play, doesn't mean it's the end of scene, we still got a lot of great devs developing stuff for the scene so it's only dead in the sense of playing new games.

Did they ever state why the PS3 version was delayed? It feels like the 360 version was out a year ago.

Probably to add move functions.

That would be an unbelievably poor excuse, especially considering the length of the delay. That would just tell me they didn't plan on making it for the PS3 to begin with. I just hope it doesn't lag and actually holds 30fps, it would ruin the experience otherwise.
