Cert Push PS3 Homebrew App to Install PSN Certificates Arrives

    Sponsored Links
Here is my latest PS3 homebrew application called Cert Push to simplify adding the PSN certificates to the PlayStation 3 flash followed by an update to make a backup of CA24.cer and put it either in /dev_hdd0/game/PUSH00000/USRDIR/files or on a usb stick you pick.

Download: Cert Push for PS3 / Cert Push for PS3 (Updated)

You MUST use AsbestOS, FreeFlash or Dev_Blind BEFORE using this to make flash writable. I probably could have added make flash writable but its been done by the devs of these apps, no need to reinvent the wheel...

Basically this will put the certificate on your ps3 for you so no messing with file managers. I don't know a whole lot about ssl but as far as i can tell all the certs that come with Charles are the same. This uses charles' certificate. Usage:
    • Run app
    • Press X to upload CA24.cer
    • Press start to exit.

You still have to use some form of dns and charles to get on PSN, sorry.

    Please READ the readme.

This app just saves you from the hassle of transferring the certificate?

Well, I guess code couldn't get easier for n00bs.

i'm not sure, my guess is this will stop working when Sony releases the new 3.60 update very soon, but you just have to change the header in Charles from 3.56 to 3.60 and it should put you back online. Sony could probably stop the hack by using a randomized header but time will tell.

Nobody has been able to give me a straight answer based on facts yet. Some people say $ony could patch it instantly but if so then why haven't they patched it yet?...

    My answer? Hopefully.

i expect that Sony will patch this with the next system update by using a random number in the firmware header file instead of using the version number 3.60 it might be something like this d5b3c39de9e796ec27.

So is the other bypass methods like drizz & others. It's a matter of when and not if it appears. It makes you wonder if there will ever be a legitimate method of staying on PSN with CFW. Sony will always have something in mind to combat it.
