No, there is no advantage. I use the JPG covers, because it makes it easier for distribution (the full package is just 14MB compared to 120MB with PNGs). It also makes it easier to host the covers and keep my server bandwidth.
Here is something I added during the UPDATE check within the manager, but it won't show until version 01.10.19 comes out, because the feature will get in 01.10.18
When there is available update, a "what's new" screen will appear first:
Then user will be asked if he wants to update to the new version:
Actually I just updated the links (for the BASE packages) on the first page (and the update links) so the 'what's new' feature is implemented in the latest 01.10.17.
Maybe in a future release you can remove the button legend on the bottomso that it looks a lot cleaner and more professional. You could have a 'Help' screen come up when you press select or something that shows the button legend.
just installed this, want to use it instead of om 2.1... none of my installed games show? do i need to edit the options.ini file or something???
cheers

Is it possible to use the TTFs for the legend instead of the system font? And possibly use special ascii characters for the button symbols? I actually like the legend, so I would vote to keep it, just make it look nicer.
As always, fantastic work Dean. The whole community thanks you for the dedication.
