I am going to try once more. My internal hdd is 500 gig 5400 rpm toshiba.
Is there anyway that I might know whether any of the drives are fragmented
the internal drive has 420 gb free space.
So I don't think that it has been fully fragmented. there might be some other issue with my setup. I will just give it another try.
Hmm... I gave it another try after some changes in multiMAN... Now even after I loaded a 50MB mp3 playing in the background, I'm getting a constant 20MB/s while copying 45.432GB from my external USB to the internal HDD and it will finish in 36mins (or faster).
I'll post a new version in couple of mins with some fixes for other things and the copy, too - check it out.

p.s. I'm attaching a screenshot to prove that I'm not lying to you or trying to avoid the problem
* Fixed MP3 mono playback (plays in stereo)
* Improved COPY speed (20-25MB/s from external USB to internal)
* Fade-out in file manager on inactivity
* "Now playing:" info in [L2] setup screen (for testing purposes)
* Fixed "white background" for some games
* Some other fixes.
lolz dude. You don't have to prove anything to anyone.
Just tried it Open manager 1.7.2 and Gaia manger 1.3.1 and the same problem.
I am just having problem, and the problem doesn't seem to be only with your manager, it is actually with every manager that supports transferring of games.
I have no clue what so ever, why such a behavior is taking place.
Keeping my fingers crossed for comgenie's awesome filemanager to work better. but I doubt it.

I wanted to give the following suggestion. That there was a definition that we could choose where we wanted the covers. In HDD0, usb, sd card, ms (these two are only available on ps3 60gb or 80gb of fat U.S.).
Backups also work with SD cards (have not tried)? I have a card that could go use it.
It is still working very slow, but I think this time I will let it run for another hour and see what happnes. it is actually a bit faster than last time. but still its slow. currently it is saying that it will finish in 396 minutes.
Still thanks alot, and your manager is just great. I don't wanna give you any more headaches.. there is one other thing that I noticed.
Should I press R2 only once to get into patch mode, or should I hold it.
If I hold it, I just cannot scroll through the games because it keeps bringing me back to the first game, which for me is Bathman Arkham Asylum.
