    manager can't find my external hard drive

    The game manager (1.07.02) can't find my external hard drive. I'm using a 2TB WD elements hard drive. The usb port is working, I tested a 8GB stick and the manager detects it fine. I tried a 500 GB hard but it couldnt find it either. Is there a size limit on hard drives? Any thoughts?

    Is this what you mean?

    # Backup games to these folders:
    hdd_dir=/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ
    usb_dir=GAMEZ

    # Look for game backups recursively in these folders:
    # (leave blank for USB (usb_home) root (/) folder)
    hdd_home=/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ
    usb_home=/GAMEZ

    I should also add that I couldnt install the manager from the ext HDD, I used a 8GB stick. I`m using a Fat system with 2 usb ports

    No, I'm not. My goal was to make somewhat of useful tool, which is not just a backup manager.

    hi again,

    nice name btw xD (MultiMAN)

    i have an idea, what do you think about an update function in MultiMAN ??

    you know, your Program connect to a server (maybe your own) and checks if the files are the newest one... (maybe with download function) so its a way easier to get your updates ^^

    Keep up the good work !!

    Yes, but for it to work it will require USB flash/stick/hdd connected to get the update saved there. Then user quits and installs it. I know of no way to initiate the update process (after download) within the application, yet.

    you can write, that the user have to plug in an usb stick or something, before he can update...

    and i think its no problem to quit to the xmb and press "install pgk files".. or not ?!

    BTW: Thank you for your openness to new ideas.

    sorry bad english

    greets

    Make sure the Playstation3 identifies your drive as "External" either in Video or Music/Photo tabs of XMB.

    Your external USB should have at least one FAT32 formatted partition (max 512GB) - the FS should be FAT32 and NOT NTFS or fat32ext.

    dean, is it possible to execute files in a ps3? maybe eboot.bin? when yes we can use your filemanager to

    execute eboot.binīs
    view pictures
    play mp3 files
    play bink, vob and avi files
    edit ascii files
    decompress psarc ect.

    i dream about a "totalcommander" for ps3
