You forgot to add in "with hardware modification." and there is no way to get it in full debug mode as far as downloading debugging firmware goes.

Blu-ray games or movies? Games yes. Movies, there is a thread for that somewhere in here that I came across. The answer is no for movies. To see debugging firmware in action used by Hideo Kojima, watch the bonus disc of Metal Gear Solid 4 (Limited Edition only) of him using it.

Does it matter if you use a debug FW? its not like you can really run homebrew without using linux. and are there any real homebrew apps that are useful?

Homebrew can be ran through the "Game OS" with the help of PS2 Boot Discs. But none of the Homebrews are useful and a lot of them don't work without actual PS2 Hardware.

Where is everyone getting this Debug FW? I have debug PS3 and can't get any games working unless I have the equivalent debug firmware update. Right now I'm stuck on 2.20, looking to upload the 2.30 they have on this site. But if there are later versions of the Debug FW, I'd love to find it.
