The updatelist file was discovered a while ago; it's the base of the firmware check bypass :tongue2 It is assumed that the PS3 does a check on the update file it downloads. Look at the PSP for example: people have been able to do plenty as far as homebrew goes, but no one has been able to create a custom firmware that is based off Sony's official updates.

That seems to happen to me occasionally now that I use PS3.Proxy, but it normally clears up if I try it again. Have you tried retrying a few times? If that doesn't work, you may have something configured wrong on either your PC or PS3. Maybe you forgot to check PS3 and click the button in PS3.ProxyServer.GUI?
I'm trying to think of a way to discover all the demo / game links. The only way I can think of would be a brute force attack that tried every possible character where A is a letter, # is a number, X is either.
Code:
http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/AA####/AAAA#00##_00/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.pkg
Also do the same thing except "http://apollo.dl.plays ... ..."
(101 characters in the .pkg filename, just in case you don't feel like counting :P )
Any suggestions that are actually feasible?

PS3 checks for firmware update by downloading this
http://fus01.ps3.update.playstation....updatelist.txt
It contains the firmware and version.
If you proxy modify this file, it will try to download and install the firmware from the url you enter!!
Someone figure out how to use this to make ps3 install custom firmware

The updatelist file was already discovered and used for the firmware check bypass :tongue2 Good job though, and thank you for working on a program that will be in English (I'm assuming...) Also, we can assume the PS3 checks to make sure the update file it downloaded is valid before executing it. Think about this: the PSP scene has a ton of homebrew out, and quite a few custom firmware, but not a single person has been able to make a custom firmware that is based off of an official Sony update file. Again, thank you for your work in trying to help us humble English speakers :smilew
