Here is an alternate method:

1) Download Speed Up (http://www.auslogics.com/boost-speed)
2) Install it
3) Launch the Application and click on Optimations
4) Click Internet
5) Pick your Internet Speed
6) Hit Next and it should tweak it and then you'll need to reboot your computer.

It increases my WiFi signal from 60% to 80%
