PS3 Firmware Version Check Bypassed thread!

has anyone in the Uk got this to work?
im getting name cannot be resolved (YES! my DNS is set to the IP of the computer running simple dns)

I have tried and so has my mate and we cant seem to get any luck

i have the same problem but me, i'm in france.

Just in case my suggestion is go to the PS Store and download that update directly from there and then run resistance.

I cant find that update in the store!! only video and demo and a bunch of behind the scenes stuff.

fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
fj00.ps3.update.playstation.org
fsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net
dsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net

dunno if its because i added these or what but Internet connection has now succeeded

Can anyone confirm that the resistance update is just a game only and not a firmware update? i havent played online since i bought this and im dying to get some time in being i dont work till 3 lol

I have a hong kong ps3 and i am trying to do this wirelessly and through my mac via parallels. when i try and connect i get a timeout message help.

i've done the windows method and all the tests said ok on the network config on the ps3 but how do i know its working properly as im running firmware 1.51 is there any way to test this ?

What u got im using a JAP psp in UK. I get an error occured while resolving a name with the server.

I used the same info as u except, I changed this to fj00.ps3.update.playstation.org , .net.

ps3 settings

IP - i gave a unsed ip address on my lan
subnet stayed default
Default router is routers addreess
Primary DNS , is PC running simple dns
Secondary DNS is Pc Running simple dns

Anything Im doing wrong
