PS3 Firmware Version Check Bypassed thread!

Way to go?? Its because of them I updated to 1.90!!!

Although in fairness where I rarely go on my PS3 I have literally been on it all day today!!

I'll say it again, I am running USFW1.51 and using PS3ProxyServerGUI with no trouble. It has never quit working for me. Check your settings, TXT file, etc.

so whats the link to the bypass page your using?

if people want to connect to the psn store and their firmware is 1.6 or lower then it's easy as pie - might even work on slightly higher firmware - hell it could perhaps work on any

you need
ps3
computer
ps3proxy - the CF3B5 version

you don't need to link to any internet address - just check my other posts - i've explained it many times.....

but here is the quick run down

install ps3proxy
in the program enter the ip of the computer running it (not the ps3's ip)
check ps3
hit run

on ps3
normal internet setting
use proxy server
enter computer ip - same as entered into program)
save - do not test

connect to store
you get an ERROR

look in the ps3proxy log and look for the file updatelist.txt or whatever it's called and download it to your computer

to change this file my other posts tell you what to change in it - i'm sorry i can't remember

in ps3proxy
link the sony address - where you orignally downloaded the update file from TO the new local copy - ie \\computer\desktop\updatewhatever.txt

connect to store again

what firmware are you on? and what modifications did you do to the update.txt file?

for example my contents are

# AU/NZ

as you can see it is 1.6
also i changed the imageversion to all 0's

my ps3 is firmware version 1.5. i used to be able to get into the store then it just stopped working

Same here actually, I haven't used the PS3 for a while, tried to log on tonight and I'm getting error 80028EA6

Actually, scratch that, it's working now, I just had to re-enter the settings PS3-side.
