PS3 Firmware Version Check Bypassed thread!

HELP, i had to unfortunately full reformat my PS3... so now i am trying to re register it on the US servers by following the guide on page 8 by jurai (using the program Simple Dns Plus) and it is not working.

Can someone confirm if ths method still working? If not... are there any other ways for me to re register my PS3 without updating? Thank you all.

Simple DNS does not work anymore. I suggest you try using Ps3 Proxy. It's much more easier and it is still confirmed working to bypass the firmware.

Simple DNS is still working for me on 1.50.

Simple DNS does work for me. I have firmware 1.54. I can connect to the store, but all the demos/starter packs I download say they need me to update.

What is the use of this method if you can't run the content you download?

Some of the games still require a higher firmware, ie. Super Stardust HD requires 1.70, yet Mortal Kombat works with 1.51. The firmware bypass check does exactly what it says, but only for preventing the initial boot from realizing that you are not on the current firmware. That way you can still go online with games and visit the PSN. If you are playing a BlueRay disk that requires a higher firmware, there is a trick for that also, but I forget what thread that is on.

Does anyone know of a way to minimize the Proxy gui to the system tray ?

"System software update required." - I'm getting this message today in any PS3 on-line feature (login, connection test).

Anyone else having trouble to get on-line? My PowerDNS log register the calls and the spoof as working, but Im unable to connect/login anymore.

I dont think this method is working anymore. It worked perfect yesterday and now is coming up with connection error. Anyone else getting this? iv got a PAL machine on firmware 1.6

3 days without news, unable to connect or sign in, so I solved the problem: Updated to 1.90...

Iv tried reinstalling simple dns and tried on other computers, looks like it might be the end of the bypass. Might have to update too
