ok simple dns is wicked ...except for the fact that when it installs it make 1600 registry changes....yes 1600 and even using system restore does not get rid of the registry changes so that one can reinstall the program..that registry txt that was posted in this thread does not seem to work for myself or my buddy. so any guru out here, please what to do, cause if i have to reinstall windows again jsut to get two more weeks of cod3 i am going to be seriously tempted to buy it... but 79 bone or 69 each for two licenses is a joke. no patches found either.... PROxy server does not work for me for this application.. works for getting games, but not bypassing firmware update... :Important

I have a US PS3 as well running F/W 1.31 and don't want it updated either. I can not play games online due to my connection speed. Since i can't play online do i even need to try to get the F/W bypass to work. If i need to bypass the F/W checks how is it done. I read many posts in this thread and its seems as though Sony fixed it. All i want to do is to be able to get the game updates specifically Resistance FOM. I haven't setup my PS3 to connect online but would like to if it can be done safely?

thanks

A problem which nobody else have in this Thread!!!

Exclamation A problem which nobody else have in this Thread!!!

I have a big problem which is not listed in the whole Thread!

Like everybody else in this thread i just wanted to check out the demos with my new german Playstation 3 , so i used the simpleDNS method to bypass the Firmware Check. Aint no problem, firmware check bypassed succesful.

BUT when i try to make a new account i just get to the screen where i can choose my day of birth, after clicking the "Continue Button" the status symbol in the right corner keeps spinning but all i get after waiting about 1.5 Minutes is this Error Message:
"A connection to the server could not be established."

I get the same error when i try to use my account which i reserved a few months ago.

My first Assumption was that my wlan signal was to low, so i changed to cable, but i just get the same error message. Then i forwarded every Port in my Router (Linksys wrt54gs; dd-wrt v23 sp1-rc1) needed to use the online store. But I get the same error! Also I deactivated the complete Firewall!

I tried PS3Proxy EXE too and the firmware bypass check worked but when i tried to make an account i get the same error message.
Here the PS3 Proxy EXE Log:
GET http://feu01.ps3.update.playstation....updatelist.txt HTTP/1.1
Host: feu01.ps3.update.playstation.net
Proxy-Connection: Keep-Alive
Accept-Encoding: identity
User-Agent: PS3Update-agent/1.0.0 libhttp/1.0.0

As you can see, you can see nothing!
Everything looks like it should work fine.

I thought it could be a problem on the european sony servers but i keep trying to connect since March 24th so I dont think there is any problem with the servers!

But where is the Problem? I keep searching and searching but all i get is this message:
A connection to the server could not be established

Today something strangely happend when i tried to make an account. After 2 minutes of loading time i could see a screen where i could choose which type of account i want to create. But this page looked very irregular, no images on there just a blank white background. When i tried to get to the next screen by clicking "continue" it ended up with the message:

A connection to the server could not be established :eek2

This is so hard to have a problem which nobody else have! :??

So please try to help me!

To find your PCs IP address, goto Start>Run and type IPCONFIG it will then display the IP addresses of all connected network cards.

not having much luck with this.. hopefully someone can help. i have a uk ps3 with 1.50 on it

running ps3proxygui and when i try to update it give me the no need to update bit... so success !!

i can see from the log that the ps3 is using the proxy server as well. if i start the internet browser, i can surf the net and see it all in the log window. however, if i try to connect to the playstation store, i just get an error "connection to the server could not be established"

any help?

Something new happend today when i tried to make my account. I changed from wlan to cable and for now sometimes i can get to the screen where i can set my Online-id password etc.

But after pushing the continue button i get the same error message. (If you dont know which one i mean, pls look at the previous page) Maybe someone can see a mistake by looking through my simpledns active log. The whole process from the firmware bypass through the point i get the error message is listed in this log, so maybe anybody of you can see a mistake.

Attach pictures to your post directly, not link to them. -Staff

Or do you guys think i should give another router a try?
