well i have tried every method in this very long thread and NONE of them work for me, eevrytime i use a different method all i get is the shite "a new update is needed"

i am using a south asia version ps3, or thats the address it looks for
dsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net
fsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net

this is really doing my head in as i have been trying for the last week, and everytime i get the same prompt

w

does the ps3 auto recognise an external hard drive, as i have 1 and its not recognised in the ps3 os but is recognised in the sak os

although i have a router, i use a pc to spoof the update

not too sure why you are putting the router ip in, the ip setting of the ps3 needs to be the same as the ip of the pc that has proxygui running. Of course proxygui has the pointer to that update.txt file

Thanks!

Thumbs up Thanks!

I was using the SimpleDNS route, managed to download 2 demos then the program get coming up asking me to register and saying Evaluation Period Expired. Couldn't log on to the store at all.

So i downloaded PS3Proxy, set it up and can now download from the store again.

Thanks for all the help. I've got a v150 UK PS3. Don't want to have to update the firmware yet ;-)

I've UK launch PS3 with fw1.5 and PS3 Proxy is working for me. I followed the instructions from this thread and set the proxy settings on my PS3 to my PC IP address and voila I was registering my ID and downloading demos.

Cheers for instructions, still would like to be running this on my iBook.

Yes and no. I know how to get gripshift working, I have not tried yet though. I followed this guide here and got the 'PS3 Proxy' working. It has a feature to send files/demos/PKGs from the PC running the proxy. I believe that you can send gripshift using this method and Sodoku but they are the only working full games. I don't think Tekken is working at the minute.

Here's a gripshift tutorial if it helps.

Would those PKGs from the US work on a UK model, if not are there any addresses for UK games ?

Cheers.

No reason why they wouldn't. It should be the same as downloading demos from the US playstaion store.

only sudoku and gripshift work (pay games).. otherwise only demos work... for me it is very convenient as from the ps3 the store is very slow to dl from

to the guy that posted the link to gthd 2...thanks!

I can confirm force feedback is much better implemented now, although I would think just rolling on smooth pavement should have a "feel" to it (which is not there) (i have the logitech pro wheel)

but it is WAY better than the one on this US site!
