I'm running PS3 v1.50 firmware with PS3.ProxyServer.GUI and the firmware by-pass is working 100%. I've even been able to get on-line and play Resistance Fall of Man.

Using PS3 Proxy, re-direct the following Sony link to your local ps3-updatelist.txt file
Code:
fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/us/ps3-updatelist.txt
This is the contents of my ps3-updatelist.txt
Code:
# US
Dest=84;ImageVersion=00000000;SystemSoftwareVersion=0.00;CDN=http://www.ps3news.com/;CDN_Timeout=30;
This is the contents of my hosts file (found in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)

no i believe that is the host ip fpr sony you do not change that. no matter what you try you willhve no luck right now with your version software. you must have 1.5 minimum to access the store then you can transfer only 2 games right now (that work anyways) if you can get into the store. we that have not upgraded will have to be patient while the smarter people that can hack keep working to give us all something else to try.

ok cool.. i think im just gonna call it a day after so many diff attempts... atleast i have some knowledge of whats going on now... what sucks though is that i have no games/demos/trailers at all...

is there any way to transfer these demos or whatever into the hd without dl'ing through store etc

may start messing with the linux/SAK for a bit..

I put my ps3 settings as this

IP: 192.168.1.136
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.254

DNS 1: 194.106.56.6
DNS 2: 194.106.33.42

I use the same ones as my pc. I got this message pop up on my pc saying ip conflict. So what do i need to change on my ps3 to make it not do that?. Also im useing ps3 proxy by 3r1c and it says to put the port to 8080 on the ps3 but it does not say what to put the proxy address to so what do i put it as?.

Is there a tutorial for the proxy method? I've done a couple of searches and scanned the forum but I haven't found one.

If you are getting an IP conflict then you've given your PS3 the same ip address as your PC. Do you have a router with DHCP? If so, I'd leave everything on the PS3 network configuration set to auto except for proxy. Using the settings you've posted, the IP address you need to use for the proxy server is 192.168.1.136

this nails it!

help!

hey guys,

i've been using simpledns and hosting a server using abyss web server to get the firmware bypass going for a week now and today it says an error has occurred? all my settings are the same and i am on v1.51. i don't need to use ps3.proxyserver.gui but i tried it anyway with both abyss and simple dns on (now it says i need to update) and in the log it says it is no longer pointing to my server, rather it points to playstation's server. why has this happened and how can i fix it.

what can redirect my playstation back to my server?
