SUCCESS!!!! tekken 5 dr usa 555mb is playable with 1.51 firmware. did not, REPEAT did not have to update to 1.54 to play the game.

yes i downloaded it from the store (paid for) using posadis and ps3 proxy by 3r1c.

Getting the same problem with 1.32 + simpleDNS, an error shows up when I try to access the PS store.

thats really weird! it worked 2 days ago, but didnt yesterday, i did not change anything in simple dns, but i could not get it back working. i just did as incredipinoy did, and now it WORKS!!!

i really dont understand why, but it works! thanks to you man!

What happens if you simply deny access to the firmware update server? For example, setting your router to prevent traffic to/from that site.

From the very start I figured this would work as they would have to have built in a timeout, otherwise problems with their servers or any vast number of other potential problems that might prevent access to their servers would screw over PS3 users wanting to get online at that time.

Anyone know?

PDX already said that it will come if and when its ready... chances are that if theres gunna be a NEW FW update this month (1.60) they will most likley wait til it will work with that firmware... give it a couple weeks

Not sure if you tried this out yet but you can easily bypass the firmware using ps3 proxy server, if you're on 1.51.
