Simple DNS method works perfectly for me and my wireless router. just manually set ps3 DNS to ur pc running simple DNS and u r all set. no more firmware update (my ps3 stays at 1.32) lol

no need to change ur router setting (keep DHCP) and simply change ur ps3 DNS to whatever ur pc's ip running simple DNS instead of the router's ip (aka gateway).

Some one can tell me if this method works with lan card/ethernet adapter ? I live in italy and i will buy ps3 the next 23 march but i don't have a router and i would share my adsl between ps3 and my pc with lan card.This method works with it ?

I used "Jurai" way of spoofing and works great.

and eddiee666 is right i tryed to log onto the ps store and its down for maintenece i hope they didnt figure out a way to stop this so quickly. i didnt even get to play with it for long.

ps to all the people haveing trouble installing this fix.. i did it this way. hit auto on the wireless config then go right till you get to the dns part change that dns part to your ip from your pc running simple dns and away you go.

here is how i did it. im just gonna tell you the path thru the ps3 you need to figure out your ip adress and stuff.

network setup
choose setting in this order
wireless
wlan settings-scan
wlan security-none
adress settings-custom
ip adress setting - auto
dhcp host name - do not set
dns setting - manual
set dns to your pc adress running simple dns
mtu - auto
proxy server - do not use
upnp - enable

this is how i got my ps3 to pass the internet connection test with 1.32 firmware. it will now try to log onto the ps store but there site is down for maintenance. hope this helps some of you get it working.

Well, down for maintance = there keeping it offline until they can figgure out how to fix it is all. Id expect a firmware upgrade (that goes by IP , vs a domain name) + some type of javascript check (or activex equivalent, that kinda thing) of the PS3 FW version.

Time will tell!

When i connected to RFOM earlier today it said it was going to be down for maintenance from 2pm-4pm Pacific Time....
