How To Play Games From External Hardrive:

Update: GameData Tool PS3 Homebrew Application is now released and also allows users to install PKG files in their desired locations.

Step 1- Load up iris manager or multiman
Step 2- Go to game options/config of any game
Step 3- Check/Turn on External Game Data
Step 4- Select the game
Step 5- On the xmb you should noticed that some icons are now blank
Step 6- Now install the .pkg files of the game (this will install the game on external hardrive)
Step 7- Enjoy

Done and +Rep comfaithgenesis, I have now added the GameData Tool PS3 homebrew app update and new lists to the first post.

i get to the point where i click on a game (options) and i click on ExtGameData like you say to but when i go back, load game, goes to xmb, none of the icons change like yours do.

Also, the Ext Game Data in the game options is not Lit up likes yours is(ex: your usb Patch option is dark) my Usb patch and ext game data are both dark. i do not know if that affects anything, all i know is its not working and was wondering if you could help.

is there a reason no one has answered the question?

Did you install the .PKG file for the PSN game after you've run a game using the "ExtGameDat" option?

Also I would look into the GameData tool (http://www.ps3news.com/ps3-hacks-jai...now-available/), it is less complicated to use and you can install .PKG files to your External HDD.

the extgamedata options for any game on internal hard is dark. not lit up as a option

Yeah, that's because you can only use the "ExtGameData" option on games on the External HDD.
