Post How to Convert PSX DexDrive Saves to PSV Format for PS3

    Sponsored Links
This tutorial will show you how to take a PS1 DexDrive *.GME save file, and use it on a PS3/PSP, or convert it to a PSV file, without using a PS1 or PS2.

    Requirements:

To get it on the PSP only:

    -Custom Firmware PSP System
-The PS1 Game that has the save on your PSP
-Type B USB Cable (used by PSP, PS3, etc)
    -Windows PC
    -DexDrive *.gme format save
    -This Zip file: http://www.ps3news.com/forums/attach...chmentid=18745

To get it onto a PS3 system or into a PSV file format:
    -All of the above
-Any PS3 system (All can play PS1)

    Preparation:

    1. Unarchive the GME2PSV.zip.
    2. Go into the folder memmanager13 and run MemManager.exe.
    3. Click "..." and choose your GME file.
    4. Click Save As... and save it in the ePSXe *.mcr format.
    5. Go to sonyindex.com and find the game ID for your save file.
    6. Name your *.mcr save file to TTTT_TTTTT-0.mcr, where T's represent the game ID. So if your game ID was SLUS-00603, you would name your file SLUS_00603-0.mcr.
    7. Copy the seplugins folder to the root of your PSP Memory Stick. If you already have game.txt or pops.txt there, rather than overwriting, add the line "ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx 1" (without quotes) to your game.txt and the line "ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheatpops.prx 1" (without quotes) to your pops.txt.
    8. Now, boot your PSP and hold R to enter the recovery menu. Go to plugins and make sure both cwcheat.prx [GAME] and cwcheatpops [POPS] are enabled.

    Execution:

    9. Exit the recovery menu and load the PS1 game. It must be the same game as the save file you are importing, and the same disc if necessary. You can use the program called "PSX2PSP" to make a PSX ISO into an eboot if you need to. Also, note that this will erase any previous saves on that game, so make a backup first if necessary.
    10. Once in game, press and hold Select for 1-3 seconds. A bunch of text should pop up.
    11. Go to "Manage memory cards" and press X.
    12. Now, you have a choice. If you want the save to be on Virtual Memory Card 1, choose "load memory card 1 from memory stick." if you want the save to be on Virtual Memory Card 2, pick "load memory card 2 from memory stick." Either one will work, but if you have a save on Memory card 1 you want to keep, for example, you could load it to Memory card 2 and you other save would not be affected.
    13. Now, Reset the game.
    14. Now, you need to save something else to the same memory card before exiting the game, otherwise the changes wont be permanent. I suggest you either play the file you imported, then save it, or start a new game and save it to the same card. Either way, as long as SOMETHING gets saved to the card it will remain. If options and settings are saved, that will probably work.
    15. If you only wanted to get your save to the PSP and not the PS3, stop here. Otherwise, continue on to step 14.
    16. Now, put your PSP into USB mode and connect it to the PS3.
    17. Go to the Virtual Memory Card Utility under "Game" on the PS3 XMB and then go to the PSP. You should see some virtual memory cards with the name of your PS1 game followed by 1 or 2. Open the appropriate memory card, and press Triangle to copy it to a virtual Memory card on your PS3.
    18. From here, you can either just stop and have it on your PS3, or copy the PS1 save file to a USB Device like a flash drive (or an SD or MMC card if you prefer/are able to) and you will get a PSV file. Ta-dah! Congratulations.
