After you backup m2ts to your PC. Try using Elecard Xmuxer Pro to convert m2ts to ac3 (audio) and mpv (video) then merge together with TMPGEnc to convert to any format you like! Then burn it onto disc and enjoy the movie!

But that doesn't work with .h264 and VC1 does it? And does it take more than 30min?

There's a new Elecard Xmuxer Pro that support Blu-Ray and HD-DVD to encode to HD file format. They offer free trial until you buy the full version for $100. These are the only one they have in the public site. I also tries VLC and it works fine when converting to 1080p mp4 (h.264+mpeg4). I watched a few times on my PS3 then I re-encoded to 720p mpeg2 onto DVD+R DL.

I just played the .m2ts straight on the ps3 XMB. no need to recode or anything.

after following the tutorial in this thread, the decrypted *.m2ts files are playable on the XMB Movie.
***no frame drop***

i found the performance disappointing on PC, OS x, and Linux VLC.

The file splitter program mentioned in the other guide... also you should be able to transfer files over 4GB over FTP... if what i hear is correct (it says 100% but continues to transfer the file)

Thanks, I was going to try ftp'ing a file over or downloading it thru the browser.

I saw mention of the file splitter method in another thread, though I haven't yet seen where that info is actually posted. I'll look for that ....
