Updated My Debug Unit to Firmware 2.76

Since Ive updated My Debug unit to firmware 2.76, will I now be able to get game updates (new cars for GT5 Prologue, ect)

Also will I be able to access the PSN Store.

(I want to download Gran Turismo HD, is there any other way to get this game?)

My system is not hooked up on the reg so it would be some work to get it connected, I just want to see if Im waisting my time...

dude, before anyone else says it, wrong place to post this question. there's a debug thread for this type of info, & to my knowledge debugs cant access the psn store from the xmb. i havent updated mine yet but i may do it tomorrow, just to be sure.

Sadly you cant access PSN in the same way as a retail can... you can view one item of content at a time by entering the service id for it.. but alas you cant install retail pkg's so it is kind of pointless. : /

Just updated test PS3 with version 2.80 firmware and still unfortunately no access to the PSN to update games or play multiplayer.

These are just a few of the many reasons including no dvd/BluRay playback that many test owners out there decide to sell or trade off their consoles.

If your main intent is to just play games use the playstation store etc etc than your best bet is to just pick up a retail console and play on the PS3 like it was intended to be.

There are many people including myself who would be happy to purchase/trade you so you can have a retail console.

Otherwise you just have to live with the limited ability of what you have.


But feel free to read through all the threads in this section to gain some insight into what you can do with your console as most of it has already been covered so there is no reason to answer the same questions over and over again for those who don't read the information that others have already taken the time to post for your benefit.

Ok Heres a quick and easy question for those people who can answer it. I have a retail 40GB PS3 currently running FW 2.76. Now if i use one of the methods to update it to 2.80 debug, then what can i do and what cant i do in the debug firmware ?
