can someone explain me: is there a difference between a normal PS3 FW and a debug firmware??

Debug firmware simply have more "features" by adding a debug menu, at the cost of not being able to play bluray movies anymore.

debug ps3s can run unsigned code and ps3 master discs, retail consoles can't, also the debug sports a debugger since 2.00.
