NOTE: I'm really sorry about the late release, even this release wasn't planned but just because of people bricking consoles I released this. We are currently working hard on porting COBRA over to 4.55

DB OFW: Its ready just make me mirrors of this cfw then I'll upload db ofw...

COBRA: Our much waited talented dev Abkarino is busy now but hopefully we will focus more on it once he is free... my friend aramis is also on work, he is also one of the greatest devs out there (just unknown hidden guy).

Other CFW states to do the following and wanted to know if it should be done with this CFW as well?

It is recommended that, after a successful installation of custom firmware, run:

Settings> [System Settings]> [Restore Default Settings]. (From the XMB)
    Restore File System (Recovery)
    Rebuild Database (Recovery)

So, you will have a clean install and you will not have problems

    Thanks in advance

Arrow ZER0 DB OFW 4.55 for PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW) By Team ZER0 Out

Following up on their previous release and RetroA 4.55 DB OFW, today PlayStation 3 developer Habib (aka smhabib) with the assistance of Team ZER0 have released ZER0 DB (Dual-Boot) OFW 4.55 for PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW) with details below.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] (194.91 MB) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror #2) / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror #3)

    MD5 Hash: 39573CD7854F4BFF73CB9D8C78596DDD

HEY GUYS! As promised, here it is.

    Features:

    1. Matches ofw structure
    2. Same size as ofw
    3. Same metadata used for encrypting modules from which ecdsa checks removed (lv0's isoldr and spu_pkg_rvk_verifier)
    4. Disabled 2 ecdsa checks to allow installation of cfw over (tested with my 4.55 but any should work if syscon set to 4.55)

This db ofw is EVEN MORE STEALTHED!!! So its probably the highest approach what people can get!

Finally, from igor242 (via pastie.org/pastes/8725257/text?key=acdq2ikbfxojycv2rje8a): The syscall hash check is only 1 of many sony is capable of doing. I have decided to preemptivly post just a part of relevent logs:
    Code:
[01:00:40] <@eussNL_> as any string can be parsed signed to the NP server
[01:00:52] <@eussNL_> including the things they patch
[01:00:58] <@eussNL_> it means it is not stealthy
    04[01:01:03] <04@igor242> kthx
[01:01:16] <@eussNL_> and as they are not patching that
[01:01:24] <@eussNL_> it means it is unstealthy by design
[01:01:45] <@eussNL_> or just as safe as a NSA aproved edition
[01:02:47] <@eussNL_> the whole "same size" mention makes also clear they have not a clue what Sony might even look for
[01:02:59] <@eussNL_> as it is obvious that they won't check only for size
[01:03:40] <@eussNL_> no one with the chromosome count between a giraffe and a sperm whale at least
[01:04:20] <@eussNL_> it is much easier to just check for hashes anyhow
[01:04:35] <@eussNL_> and as you patch 1 bit, it fails that check
[01:04:41] <@eussNL_> even if size equals
    And a little bit more:
    Code:
[01:11:18] <@eussNL_> so if they patch out a check, it is detectable
[01:11:26] <@eussNL_> and if they resigned it, it is detectable
[01:11:59] <@eussNL_> hence why the whole DB OFW is not good for your safety
[01:16:10] <@eussNL_> "use PSN without such a high risk of ban"
    [01:16:10] <@eussNL_> LMAO
[01:16:10] <@eussNL_> "With this DB FW, its the same exact firmware as" no it isn't
    [01:16:10] <@eussNL_> that is a nice catch22
[01:16:10] <@eussNL_> if it was the same, it would not need to be patched
[01:16:17] <@eussNL_> and if it was patched, it was not the same
[01:16:36] <@eussNL_> and if anyone would claim it is, they have no clue about what they are doing and why
[01:17:00] <@eussNL_> not that I am generally full of of clues.... but at least I don't try to sell it like I am
As for respect and love from you, I don't need either of that from you, I need you to follow our requirements in order to post your stuff here. One of those requirements being you not make unfounded claims of stealth. No such thing exists and it never did. It's that simple.

hi guys i have done a lot of research about flashing and downgrading ps3s but this is new to me, does this mean as it is said to be OFW though its modified, can it be installed over stock sony fw?

ok got it: DB (Dual-Boot) still needs a flasher and extras.

I have Rogero 4.50 v1.01 running with multiman... will this CFW work with my current multiman setup?
