SingStar Back To The 80s is Now Working on PS3 3.55 CFW
SingStar Back To The 80s, a PS3 3.72 Firmware game, is now working on PS3 3.55 CFW by using the SingStar Queen PlayStation 3 update file with the SingStar Back To The 80s PS3 LiGHTFORCE release.
Below are the related PlayStation 3 downloads and a brief guide for PS3 Custom Firmware users, as follows:
1. Download this [Register or Login to view links] .PKG update file and install it on your PS3.
2. Use a SFO editor to change the game ID from BCES01257 to BCES00494 and let multiMAN change the FW to 3.55 (or do it yourself), or download this modified [Register or Login to view links] by Descrambler and replace the original one.
3. Run the game on multiMAN and it should work.
P.S. Don't install any other updates or the game won't work!
What this does is use the 3.55 FW update from SingStar Queen to work on SinSstar back to 80's (a 3.72 game) making it run on 3.55 CFW.

Here's what I do. When you update a game to get it working and there are more updates (EG: GT5) just update to what you can then edit the PARAM.SFO file and change the version number from 1.09 to 9.09. That way you will know what update you have x.09 but when you tell it it's 9.xx the game doesn't see any updates so it doesn't ask again.
You have to run the game once for the changes to work so the first time after editing it will still ask, just say no and ignore that update. The next time it wont ask and if you check the PS3 will say its at update 9.xx.
Enjoy your backed up game without ever getting asked for an update.
