if its any consolation, i sold my ps3 and formated my 1tb external then bought another ps3 lol luckily i have all the originals, so wasnt too drastic.

i'd use a 500gig internal inside ps3 and put all games on 1tb external. its a lot safer and they pretty cheap now if you look around.

there called rumours because no-one can prove if its true or not, and no-one knows who started them so take a guess. but i'd say probably but probably is a word that is only 50% sure.

keep an eye on the ps3 news main page, if there is it will show up there.

I have a 40GB model (CECHG) PS3, so i am out of luck at the moment i think, i can see that a lot of people with my same model have bricked. At this point i will wait for a safe solution (a 4.2x/4.3x CFW that have LV1 checks disabled) and i stay with Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7.

yup i'd stay there too. another option will always come along if you wait long enough.

PS3s on 3.55 ain't easy to get unless you can flash it yourself.

I upgraded a CECHG this morning and no brick. Maybe I just got lucky. Hopefully something with LV1 checks disabled will come out soon.

is downgrading to 3.55 from 4.21 just as safe if you updated fine? also, everything stays in tact right? i'm just asking cause i'm pretty sure every firmware we might need to do this. maybe not though, cause it seems like everything seems to getting wide open.

Forgive me if I'm tripping , But there's already a v2 Rogero 4.21 with fixes for bricks and works on all consoles afaik

since there's a tutorial for it i assume it means it can happen and has.

the tutorial requires hardware flasher, so i'd suggest you stay on whatever rogero version your on.
