Today clouduzz let us know of a PS3 Custom Firmware 3.55 and 3.41 fix for Record of Agarest War Zero on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

The PS3 CFW patch fixes were made a little over a month ago by ReDriGoX, REDragoon and shado1664, but haven't been reported on up to now here... that said, if anyone knows of other PlayStation 3 games on our PS3 3.60+ Games that can't be FIXED yet list by all means drop the RS/MU/etc links in our PS3 CFW & MFW Forum and we will mainpage your post.

To quote from ReDriGoX: I made a patch for this game, using the Japanese version. 90% of the game is in English, but USRDIR\SEC\AG05_SG_DATA.sec needed to be replaced from the JP version, because there are 3 additional files compared to the original JP release: EVENT_GALLELY_DATA.sd, parts.co3 z_menu_ps3.co3

Maybe someone more experienced could fix this, and it would be perfect, for now the character names, skill names, and maybe some other things are in Japanese, but everything else (story, battle, movies, etc) are translated!

From saito1234: It is possible to extract the files from the .sec file with this tool (by asmodean) for example character names can be found here: 00000+00070+NAMECHAR.sd

Finally, from REDragoon: I wasn't too happy about the lack of translation on names, items and abilities so I replaced the content of the English files to that of the Japanese files.

Without going into much details this is the file you need, so far I have replaced names, items, abilities, world map data and most other essential stuffs that you need to play the game. Just put it in USRDIR/SEC. I might update it later when I encounter section of the game that arent translated and I think its important enough to warrant a translation.

Note: ITS STILL NOT 100% translated but everything you need is translated (for me at least). Hope it works for you.

Indeed heh.. news of these USA / JPN mods passed me by when they were first released but it's nice to know they are working, even if it's not quite 100% yet.

it's the English/US release fix is the eboot of Japanese version, apparently it works and 99% in English

Thanks a lot for the japanese eboot of Agarest 2.

Can anyone translate the first choices in the game? They are untranslated and I'm not sure what they are about. Like the three crystal you have to choose between (green, red and blue) I'm guessing they are asking to choose between some kind of skill affinity or something?

Edit: I have a problem with the agarest 2 fix.

The game works perfectly. But if you inspect any items, you can NOT go back. You are stuck on the inspect menu. You can scroll down the detail pages of the items you own, or the shopkeeper owns, but you can not go back in the menu, you are stuck there until you either reboot the PS3, or you press the menu button and quit the game. Is there a way to fix this?
