As for the side note, be sure you're running the game with the disk inside PS3, not from APP_HOME

AFAIK, there are a bunch of games though backed up fresh into the PS3 from original discs using Multiman don't work in 3.55 kmeaw, like Enslaved & Vanquish. They just show a black screen, and all you do is press the PS button to return to XMB :-(

But on the same PS3, the backed up Unreal Tournament works!
