well i know version 1.02 said cinavia was disabled, yet it still was active, is it actually gone this time? i was also a lil confused, am i able to update to this cfw from rogero, or do i have to downgrade to 3.55, i am on cfw 4.46, i may update if i can straight update from rogero, and cinavia is actually disabled this time

Ok I didn't receive any type of response so I TESTED MYSELF, upgraded 2nd console from rogero 4.30 cfw straight to Habib CEX 4.50 V1.03 PS3 CFW update was successful, only tested because in listed features this part was confusing. (Can I upgrade from any custom firmware. ONLY can update from Firmware 3.55.)

Well UPDATE is good and stable from 4.30 cfw, I am testing blu-ray backup now to see if cinavia is actually disabled.... and nope just as I expected after 15 minutes of play all audio outputs temporarily muted. PROTECTED BY CINAVIA, nice claim to fame, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!! CINAVIA IS STILL ACTIVE.

As has been the case for some time now, Ciniavia is not disabled on disc backups only from media files.

    Habib cex 4.50 v1.03

I haven't owned a console since the original XBOX, so I'm very unfamiliar with the PS3.

I bought a 3.55 PS3 and installed the Latest Rogero and then HABIB CEX 4.50 V1.03 over the top and have been playing internal games just fine.

I bought a 1TB HDD that I received this morning. I assumed I'd have to format the drive (which I did), install OFW 3.55 and then HABIB... but the PS3 says I am on 4.50. I tried to istall HABIB but I get "No applicable update date was found". (Yes, it's FAT32-- PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP.)

Do I just need to make a backup of the original drive instead?

But you were already on habib from what you wrote before this? You don't need to downgrade to 3.55, that would require you going into a recovery menu and installing the 355 downgrader pup and then rebooting and reinstalling the habib. It should just work after formatting the new HDD without having to do any downgrade. What happens if you try and install the HABIB from the recovery menu?

Accessing the PS3 Recovery Menu (Safe Mode)

    1. With the system in standby mode. Press and hold the power button down until the system turns on and then off again. Release the power button. Very important to hold the power button until the console shuts off and to release the power button before continuing to step 2.

    2. After about 1 - 2 seconds press and hold the power button again, until you hear 2 consecutive beeps. Release the power button. During this step you will actually here three beeps. There will be one single beep then a short delay followed by the 2 consecutive beeps. Only release the the power button after the 2 consecutive beeps.

    3. You will then be instructed to plug in a controller, via the usb cord, and press the PS button.

    4. At this point the PS3 Recovery Menu will be shown on the screen.

From that menu select option System Update (with your HABIB usb plugged in)
