I use quickbms it works fine, I get 2111 files from the jpn rootr and 2118 from the eng.

sysString is in usrdir in us version. and since the newfiles you posted earlier needs that file. does that mean we can just copy it from usrdir to sys folder then use cpkforp to add? gonna test see if that works

about the quickbms. seems like it was my fault. thought sysString was missing because of bad extraction at first

No use the Sys/en/SysString.bin and Sys/jp/SysString.bin from the JPN rootr

oh ... i'm a bit confused now. shouldn't we add the US ones to JP rootR to make the text English?

That is just for the sysstring files

ok then we use all of the extracted us-files and the rootR_newfiles.txt from some pages ago along with sysstring from extracted jp rootR and add them all to JP rootR. and copy paste map0R.cpk and map1R.cpk. right?

That's right but your using the cpkforp right? You might get the infinite loading screen then, with cpkrc everything went fine for me.

i'll try to make a newbie guide from scratch later on if no one else makes it. that is if i can make the game work myself
